Veils

I dunno what kinda veil I want... rarggghhhh... bird cages are outta the question because my FI will make fun of it for sure! My dress is in my bio.... the back doesnt have anything but buttons...i think some of the beading will end up wrapping a little in the back when its taken into my size....but I dunno... I was gonna just do a fingertip length but have been contemplating a cathedral length one... help! :-)

I found matching a veil really hard. I think some beading to match your dress (for example if it's got diamante then add matching diamante to the veil) would be nice. I think you have to go trying them on with your dress to see the overall look. It's such a personal preference, but your dress is quite modern chic, I would try to find a veil that ties into that style and which will be practical for you on the day... could you handle a cathedral length or will it drive you mad?Good luck!! xjcx

I had a hard time with this too.  I didn't even want one at first. After Church one Sunday, my mom and I went to a consignment store and I found one that was okay, and then my mom handed me one that was super long... she started crying when I tried it on and bought it for me on the spot.I really just suggest going to try some on to get a feel for what you think looks good and feels right.I DO NOT recommend spending a lot of money... they're VERY fragile and (IMO) no one really notices the details.GL and HTH!

I'm going back and forth about whether to say you should have a stand-out veil or not... your dress is amazingly stunning, and I can't decide whether a flashy veil would take away from it or not. IMO, a very long veil is quite traditional and I just don't know if that matches the feel of your dress (which I still love and I'm still glad you went to that sale!!)... so what about something between fingertip and cathedral? Maybe that wouldn't compete with the dress as much. Or not doing a veil at all? Is that an option for you? GL, girl.

I bought my custom veil from a store on ebay for $39.It's cathedral length. with scattered swarovski crystals throughout.I didn't add pictures to my bio yet. But I can take some if you would like to see it, Eryn.I will only wear mine for the ceremony but I loved the way it looked over the back of my dress (being so long).Plus, how many times can a girl get away with wearing a veil? ;) I had to have fun with it when I can! haha

I like the idea of a simple elbow or fingertip length because that is wear your dress  has the most detail and will draw attention to that area.

That seems almost similar to something that Jessica [bcnoelle] is going to use with her dress :) Def cute and I agree with Leah, double check Ebay. I bought my veil from cutebrides and I have heard wonderful things about VeilsByLeslieV. They both offer custom designs.

Vedika- yes, I actually got mine from LeslieV. She/they were VERY good at communicating back & forth. And VERY reasonably priced. I was really happy with how it turned out.

thanks y'all~ I actually checked out ebay and i didnt likethe 3 on there and then i checked etsy and found one I really liked..http://tinyurl.com/yzfmkeq  except I would tell her no crystals and add swarovksi later if i wanted... or i found this one... http://tinyurl.com/yko5t23 for only $30... I would def probably just buy it instead of making it because it isnt that much... Ive never really been a veil kinda girl...but i think the first one would look cool with my dress and not really take away with it... I was also worried about a veil grabbing on my dress because of  all the beading and prong set rhinestones on it.... But then Ill be sad I cant get a cool veil shot...

Great find! I don't think you could have picked a better veil for your dress. Happy dance!
