Outdoor Ceremony Ideas (esp. @ Coronado & Glorietta Bay Promenade Park) / "Hiding" the

Hi Everyone! We were thinking of getting married in Coronado at Glorietta Bay Promenade Park (or another outdoor setting--whether it be another park or the beach) and was wondering if anyone could help provide any ceremony ideas. To be more specific--the problem i'm running into with having the ceremony at an outdoor venue is that there isn't a way to "hide" the bride and give that special & dramatic entrance effect that you'd normally get if you were being married at a church or indoor venue (where they can close the doors after the WP enters and pause before the bride walks down the aisle). Have any of you seen any outdoor ceremony sites (like the Glorietta Bay Promendade Park in Coronado) set up in a way that the bride is hidden before she walks down the aisle? Even if we had some sort of "fake" door/curtain, i'm sure since it's an open setting they'd see me as I walked up to that door/curtain--which is what I don't want to happen. Anyway, I'd love to hear any of your great ideas and welcome your suggestions!  Thanks Knotties!!! =)

I haven't been to that park but is there any area in the park that has a natural barrier a group of trees of bushes? Or are you getting driven there could you wait in the car until it's time for you to come down the aisle. I'm getting married outside but it's at Paradise Point they pretty much designed my ceremony site for weddings. My walk starts from behind this hill with ferns and stuff so thats how I'm getting my entrance it makes the walk a little long because once out in the open it's over a little bridge with a fish pond then turn and go to the grass with the aisle.

oh wow, Paradise Point is GORGEOUS!  i'm so happy for you as that was one of the places I wanted to get married at, too.  No, there aren't a bunch of bushes or trees that will hide me, it's all out in the open., which is what's making this so much harder to do.  And, here's my concern with being driven up to the ceremony--I've heard of brides and even the WP being driven up to the location via trolley, limo, etc. and i've thought of that, as well. the only downside to that is, your hair could get all messed up on the way over and if you get up from the limo you're dress could get all wrinkled/flattened while you're sitting and you won't have time to fix it right before you walk down the aisle because everyone'll see u right when you get out of the limo....ok, ok, i know i'm probably being too picky..but i'm sure u guys can understand, right, as this is our big moment to walk down the aisle?? well, i hope you can. i guess if i can't think of anything else, i'm sure my MOH's can help me smooth my dress down n fix my hair real quick while everyone's watching right after me get out of the limo. but to anyone reading these posts, please keep em coming and thanks again for your help! =) it's such a nice relief to be able to bounce ideas off of each other. i love the knot! =)

I realize you posted this a while ago....but Im getting married at Sunset cliffs and have the same problem. What I decided to do was order a cutom parasol with my wedding oclors and my new initials put on it....then I will just hold that as I was from the car to the isle, then hand it to a designated person before I walk down the isle...just an idea :)
