Marriage certificate question

I need to push forward on all the post-wedding jazz now and need to pickup marriage certificate from the town. I was wondering were you able to just show up and pick them up or did you need to call ahead of time. I keep calling the town we were married in, but typically government agency - get no response.

i would call because it still may not be ready.

I called and they also did not answer, I went there and of course it wasn't ready but was able to request it and went back later that day to pick it up.

i was told when we dropped off the application it would be ready like a week or so after the wedding....i went to pick it up last friday, about 4 weeks after the wedding....

I just mailed in a form from the website with a check and they mailed it to me.

depends on the town. I went one week after my wedding and was in and out in 2 minutes.

I went in and it took them like 3 minutes to get it ready.

I called first to make sure it was ready as I only wanted to make the trip once (45 mins each way from my house). I called about 10 days after the wedding and it was ready; picked it up the next day which was a 5 minute process in the office.
