Cookie Sheets

Ladies who bake...Any recommendations on what kind of cookie sheet I should go buy tonight? Preferably something I can buy at Bed, Bath & Beyond since I have gift cards to there from the wedding. Thanks!

Re: Cookie Sheets

  • I use those cooking stones... not sure if BB&B sells them. But I love my cookie sheet and my pizza stone. They are the awesomest.

  • I have some silicone ones that I really, really love.  My mom has some metal ones that she really, really loves.  Let me see if I can find links to both of them for ya :)

  • NO idea of the brand, but I got a set of 3 from BBB. I've used them and I love them. We just chose a random set too, there weren't many that were prepackaged in threes. Sorry if that is completely unhelpful :)
  • I love to bake and I've always just used the plain old cheap metal ones.  I would like some of the ones that circulate the air underneath, though.  Not sure what they're called, but I think you'd get more even baking with them.

  • Calphalon Non-Stick, Insulated. I got two of them at my shower in September and they are amazing! (I am a frequent baker) The insulation keeps things from burning on the bottom, while still allowing it to cook all the way through.
  • The air circulation ones I don't like, because you have to adjust the time, and I always end up burning them :) Perhaps if I paid attention like I should, they'd work better. Andress - we registered for that 3 pack too, but I had no idea what I was really wanting. :)J - I'll go look at those links now!

  • I have a set of 3 Wilton sheets that are awesome. I have recently started using parchment paper on every sheet I have for almost everything I bake - it helps preserve the quality.

  • Wilton is a good cookie sheet brand.

  • I guess I should add, I use my silicone one on top of a regular cheap baking sheet from Target.  It's just nice because you take it right off the baking sheet directly from the oven and put it on the counter because they don't really conduct heat.  And they're much easier to wash than cookie sheets.

  • I like the heavier weight non-stick ones too (but I don't have the insulated ones).  But, when I bake at my mom's, I have really good luck with her cheap-looking aluminum cookie sheet (I guess that's what it is; sucker bends easily and she's had it forever), too.  I guess she's put her years of baking goodness voodoo on it or something. That's why I stole her pizza pan ;)

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • I also recommend Wilton.

  • Mmkay, thanks ladies!!Does it matter if they have the dark coating or anything? I would assume darker absorbs more heat, but I don't know if that's actually true. I obviously don't bake cookies very often :)

  • Chicago Metallic commercial half-sheet pans with Silpats. If you don't want to buy the Silpats, parchment is a good alternative. If you do a lot of baking, though, get the Slipats.
  • Wilton hands down the best pans I've ever used.
  • I use cheap metal ones.  I like the metal ones b/c we use cookie sheets to cook other stuff on all the time and I'd want them to be firm. I definitely recommend that you get at least one Silpat, though.  It's a silicone rectangle that you put on your cookie sheets under the cookie drops and it makes them bake evenly and not stick to the pan (thus crumbling when you remove them).  I loooooove it.
  • Okay, Wiltons with the silicone mat. Got it. Thanks ladies! :)
