Thermography Question

Hi ladies, I am going to have someone design our invitation (5" by 5") and then have them printed using thermography. Does anyone have any experience doing this? My questions: 1) Which local printers offer themography? How are the prices? 2) Did you buy your own cardstock? How thick does it have to be? 3) Is there a big price difference in printing b&w vs color? Thanks in advance!

I've used Rick Smith at MinuteMan Press in Manassas. If you go through a printer, they typically buy the paper. There shouldn't be much of a difference in price between black and a color.

I am using Hawthorne House in Occoquan, VA for my invites which are being thermographed.  I'm not really sure how the prices "compare" to anywhere because it's the only place I went for invites so I haven't price shopped or anything.  I am using the cardstock they have because that's how we came up with the idea to make our own and they had a ton of paper with designs and different colors.i don't think there's a price difference for color vs black/white, i think it just has to do with how many colors you are choosing.if you want a price breakdown of what i'm paying for what i'm getting just shoot me an email deetzel at aol dot com. (it's just kind of long and involved)
