Bridal Shower Hostess Gifts

Are you giving your bridal shower hostess a thank you gift? If so what are you getting her? My mom is throwing me a shower in CT and my FMIL is thowing me a shower in MA. Not sure what to get them. Also, when do I give them the gift? During the shower infront of our guests, or after privately?

I'm looking for something to give my hostesses too.

I plan on going up to each of them at my shower and thanking them personally (and giving them a gift). I've been to showers where the bride has made like a group annoucement and read off the names of her hostesses from a list. I really don't like the "public announcement" idea, I think it makes it less sincere. I read an article about this on Emily Post, and they agree with me as well.

My mother and sister are throwing my shower. I recently found my mother's bridal shower photos in an album that was broken and falling apart. I am going to take them and scrapbook them for her. I think she will be really touched. Not sure what I am going to get my sister yet.

My mother is hosting both of my shower and FMIL & BM's are helping. We plan on giving my mom a gift card to a restaurant and one to my FMIL as well (different amounts). For my bridesmaids I plan on making up a nice little gift bag of shower related items (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, loofa, etc...) along with a card that says something cute like "Hope you have as much fun in your shower as I had at mine". Almost all of my BM's will be at my shower this weekend so I plan on giving out the gifts then after presents are opened.

I'm still trying to think. I know I'm doing a Starbucks gift card. I feel like I should do something else. But no, I will not be giving it to them at the shower, though.

I have a ton of hostesses. My BMs are hosting one, and I got each of them a candle and MOH a bag of Starbucks coffee (because she doesn't like scented things). My FSIL is hosting another shower at her house and FMIL is helping, so I got both of them Keurig cups. I think two other FSILs are helping, so I got them both candles, also.

I'll probably give them to them before or after the shower.

I got my Fi's mom a large coffee mug and some nice ground coffee. I will probably be arriving early to the shower and giving it to here beforehand.

I'm still trying to figure out what to get the hostesses for my side of the family. This shower will be a little bigger so I want to make it a little larger of a gift for all of their hard work. I haven't figured this one out yet, so it might just end up being a gift card.

There's a local shop that sells muffin mixes in fabric bags shaped like the flavor of muffin, like the blueberry mix comes in a pouch shaped like a blueberry. They are super cute! Everyone who hosts a shower will get one. They have quite a few flavors so it works out well!

Fi's aunt who we are both super close to is throwing mine. I am for sure getting her a GC to starbucks as that is her favourite coffee shop. I want to get something else as well, I just don't know what yet.

My mom is the main host I am giving her a swarovski crystal necklace, and a bottle of wine from Cupcake vineyards. My 2 aunts are helping decorate and I am giving both of them a silver pearl bracelet, and a candle from Bath & Body works. My bridesmaids are helping a little and I am giving them each a brooch to wear on their dresses, I may also get them something else little like a body wash.

My best friend and MOH is the main hostess of my shower. This is what I am getting her, she has done SO MUCH planning and paid for so much, I really wanted to get her something beautiful. She has also been my big go to person throughout the wedding planning process. I will also get a little something else for the other girls that are helping out too (liked the idea or a small gift card or flowers)

My FSIL offered her house so for her I am going to give her a Gift card to somewhere just haven't decided to where. For my MOH and BM, who are actually hosting the shower, I don't know. I probably will give all their gifts after the shower since I will be helping with the clean up.

I don't think I have ever heard about giving your hostess/bridesmaids something for the shower nor have I ever gotten anything like that as a bridesmaid/hostess before! Maybe they don't do that there I'm from or have I been living under a rock?? LOL It's a very nice idea I think though! I've gotten all of my bridesmaids gifts for the wedding along with cards to give to them on the rehersal night but didnt even think to do anything for the shower as well?

I've always thought that the gifts that you give on the rehersal night was a "thank you for standing up and for everything that you've done (including shower/bachlorette party, etc)"
