veil all night?

Did any of you opt to wear your veil throughout the reception rather than removing it after pictures? Did it bother you or did you even notice?

Re: veil all night?

  • I took mine off post-ceremony, 'cause it would've annoyed the crap out of me. My cousin, though, had hers on all through her wedding last week. It was LONG, too, so it got bustled. I did see one point where it looked like it annoyed her a little, but the rest of the time she looked pretty comfortable.
  • I fully plan on removing mine after pictures, before grand entrance to reception.
  • You couldn't of paid me to keep that annoying thing on my head after the ceremony.
  • I wore mine all night. It only bothered me a couple times when DH went to hug me and it would pull my head down. But my MIL bought it for me as a Christmas present and I was going to wear it. It was the exact one I wanted and I wasn't about to take it off.

  • I don't even remember, that tells you how important it is.
  • I literally ripped mine off my head as soon as we walked out of the church.  It annoyed me during the entire ceremony (which was my fault, I forgot to try it with the dress the day-of and the beading on my dress and my bolero kept catching on the veil so it would tug...it was incredibly irritating), so there aren't any pictures after the ceremony with the veil, or the bolero.  Too much stuff.
  • I wore mine all night. It was long, too. Didn't even notice it.

  • I wore mine the whole time.  It was Finger length (abot 41 inches)

  • I wore mine until about the middle of the reception. It bothered me when people hugged me and it would pull my head back.  I had a waist length veil.
  • I took it off towards the end of the night during dancing. I don't really remember taking it off.

  • My veil was finger tip length and I wore it all night.  It didn't get pulled and it didn't bother me at all.
  • I wore mine for a while. But between the hugs and people hanging all over me, I thought they were going to rip my head off. I removed the veil shortly after we made it to the reception.
  • I took off the chapel length layer after the ceremony and pictures, but left the finger-tip length layer on all night.  It didn't bother me at all.  I didn't even notice it.  If it bothered me I would have removed it.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • My mom bought my veil and said that if she bought it, I needed to wear it all night (to make it worth it). The veil started out on top of my updo, and after the ceremony and when I was bustled we moved it to UNDER my updo. That made it more comfortable, it stuck in great and i forgot it was on. I thought it looked pretty both ways so I'm glad I got to wear it both ways!
