Reasonable Cake Makers????

My baker just backed out and I need some advice on who to use in town...I have always used Lucy's but they don't exist anymore...I'm looking to stay around $500 for both cakes...any suggestions? All I want is buttercream with white dots and a monogram and my fiance wants a white round cake with the Baylor seal on it...

This was a recommendation from one of my vendors. Humble Pie Desserts - Round Rock.

Try Classic Cakes by Lori in Dripping Springs. She makes beautiful cakes and they're very reasonably priced.

My cakes were about 350 for both the wedding and groom's cake.  I think it came out to about 1.50 a slice.  They're called Gimme Some Sugar (Keep Austin Sweet).  Both ladies are very fun to work with, creative, and make killer cakes.  Their website is being update but you can give them Carrie and Jen a call at 512-814-7847.

OMG, you have to go to Michelle's Patisserie. She is amazing! and specializes in butter cream AND she's reasonably priced. Her cakes are delicious and moist. I used her for my wedding last year, and spent a little less than $400, including the delivery, cake, and groom's cake. Check out her website www.michellespatisserie.com

Yea I second Michelle's Patisserie, I'm not using here but my sister-in-law did and my friend is using for her wedding thursday. I think she is pretty reasonably priced and taste good.

Just putting a comment out there about Matty Cakes. I was real excited about having a tasting with them. First time they needed to reschedule and the second time I was kept at work too late to make the appointment. I emailed to reschedule and still hadn't heard back. (My FI called them that evening but couldn't talk to a live person, so he left an apologetic message.) So disappointed on how they handled this and so we are considering other options.

We are getting our wedding cake from Round Rock Donuts.  They were by far the best tasting we went to and are very affordable. They also did my birthday cake in March and it was beautiful and delicious :)
