Listing registries on shower invites

I know that it's acceptable to list registry info on shower invites, but I'm wondering if all registries need to be listed on all invites?

I'm having three showers (my family, my fiance's family, friends) all hosted by different people. We have four registries (I'm aware that many people will find this to be excessive, but we've got very good reasons for having that many, and I'd be happy to explain if anyone is particularly upset by that).
Two of the registries are at locations accessible to my friends, but not my family. Should I ask that those be left off the invitations for that shower?

I'm probably over thinking this, but it seemed silly to include a local specialty shop on invites that are being sent to an entirely different area since I know the guests won't be shopping there. Thanks for your help!

  • I don't think there is any reason to include local stores on an inviation going to people who don't live in that local area.  However, you should get your shower host know where you are registered and let her decide what she wants to list with the shower invitations.

  • If it's a local store that doesn't offer online shopping, then I'd request for them to be left off. If items can be bought online, then I'd list it. Personally, I like having more choices when I shop.
  • Do you have registry info on a wedding website?  My shower hostess decided to just list our wedding website on the shower invite, rather than saying where we were registered, and that seemed to work just fine.
  • I would list all the places JIC. I'd maybe leave the store off if it was a small local store with no online registry that no one lived by. No, even then I'd list them. I mean, you never know, you might have an item at one of the stores one of your guests might really want to get you.

  • I think I would list them all. I don't think anyone would be offended by it or anything, and you never know. Someone might figure out how to call the store or something and buy a gift from a local shop if they want to.

  • If guests can order online or via phone at the local store, I would just list them all.  I often like to shop at stores like that for a couple when possible, because I know those gifts are really their style and probably mean a lot to them.  FI and I are registering at a local store near us that has an online shopping option.  We just love their stuff; I really can't imagine not registering there.
