My hair apt

Last week I posted how I was getting my hair hi-lighted and my stylist might not have been able to do it. I was so happy to find that she was able to do my hair. HOWEVER, it came out terrible. I've been going to her for about 15 years and I normally only get hilights once a year for the summer, then I let them grow out but it takes a while cause my hair is so long. Last year I gave her a pic of how I wanted them done, she didn't quite get it. This year I showed her the same pic, not only did she not get it, but she didn't hilight the pieces of hair that were hilighted last year. Picture this now....I have brown hair and got dark blonde and Carmel hilights.....but she never hilighted the same pieces so you can see some of the grown out hilights from last year. I'm so mad that not only did she not color it the way I wanted but didn't tough up last years strands. UGH!! I know you prob all think I should go back and make her fix it but I just can't do it. I never complained to her if I didn't like something and I would really feel bad. I do know that I won't go to her for my hilights next year. : (

Uuuufff! That bites, be honest with her, my mom's owns a couple salons and if a customer isn't satisfied she will do a do-over, think about it, you not letting her know will only make you more annoyed... Don't you wnat perfect hair the day of? It doesn't hurt to speak up :) GL!

Ugh! That's so annoying.  I understand not wanting to speak up.  Can your daughter help you fix it?  I've done my mom's highlights and it's not too bad.  Plus you can only leave it in for a little bit and then the color is lighter and more natural.  But I'm sure it looks good anyway!

I never thought of trying to fix it myself or having my dtr do it. Idk though, I'd ge afraid it would turn green. Lol. I have bad luck.

  • Ugh that's annoying!! Although it sounds like it might look neat when you have it up? Are you wearing it up for the wedding? I think the different colors might look neat in curls? But if you really hate it, I would just go back to her and let her know that.

Hmmm, this is true Lora. I'm having it half up with curls.

  • If you really hate it and don't want to complaine to her, try someone else??  Get a recommendation to another stylist and see if they can do anything about it.  And on another note, 8 days??  Seriously!!  I can't wait to see photos.  I hope it's as empty as it was on the beach when I was there.

  • Sorry to hear it didn't turn out like you wanted. I am sure it will still look good when it is styled for your wedding. If you really don't like it though, you should go back. If one of my clients didn't like their color, I hope they would give me the opportunity make it better. If it is your only complaint in 15 years, im sure she can handle it. :) Hope it works out!
  • I would just go somewhere else. Find a place around you that has rave reviews where it is an almost sure thing. That way you will be pefectly happy on your big day =)

  • I think that I would go somewhere else to get it fixed if you don't want to complain.  I was also thinking that it might look cool when you hair is done for the wedding, but if you aren't comfortable with it, then I would fix it.

  • I know what you mean about not wanting to complain...I'm the same way.

I'm also very self concious so I wouldn't be able to just leave it...I would try going somewhere else that is well known and have them fix it.  But that's just me.

I am going to the spa Friday, maybe they can fix it. I find it hard to believe she didn't notice it but I also know how she is and she treats my hair as if it's her hair. I had my dtr take a pic of the back of my hair so I could see it and it's really noticeable.

  • Jen- You need to tell her and have her fix it. If you can't do that, go some place else and have it fixed. But, then you have to pay double when she should be fixing it in the first place.
