BM dress dilemas

I'm just curious if anything similar has happend to anyone else. I fear, after reading the papers, tha tmy girls are going to ALL have to order new dresses! All 3 of my girls have finally tired on their dresses(waiting on my maid of honor who is in town from NJ) NONE of them fit. They are all too small. We ordered the EXACT size they tried on in the store(it was the exact same dress) and they are all too small. They are all in a different size. My sister for example is in an 8 while my moh is in a 12. My sister could barely zip up my mohs 12! Should there be only a teeny difference between these 2 sizes? We are thinking the sizes are wrong and they are headed to the store today to try to work something out. I"m NOT going with for fear I might hurt someone (LOL...I am COMPLETELY joking about hurting someone fyi) Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this. We knew their return policy sucked but we ordered the exact size in the exact dress they ALL tried on....to me it seems like there should be NO problems. Advice?

Wow that is super weired! Do you think maybe the store you ordered them from changed how they sized the dresses. I know when we went to AA they told us that the new dresses were sized differently than the old ones which was very odd. If the 12 didn't fit your size 8 BM then something is very wrong and they need to fix it. I mean that doesn't even give enough in the seams to take it out!

Which AA did you go to? We were certainly never told that or we would have ordered accordingly. That makes me very nervous. My mom is trying to keep me out of the "dress" drama which I think is just adding to my frustration. sigh :(

I've heard from several people that there were huge inconsistencies in the sizing of BM dresses they ordered from bridal boutiques. I don't know if it's an issue of certain brands or if it's a generalised problem in the industry, but I can't say I'm too surprised. I know it's not an option for everyone, since many gals have a specific look in mind for their BM's, but my two MOH's and I are going to find their dresses off the rack in a regular ol' store. Probably White House Black Market. The sizing is just far more consistent. Sorry this happened to you and your girls! Boo! Hope the shoppe can make it right for you guys.

I went to the one in Altamonte. When I say the new ones I mean the new styles that came out were one size which was suposed to be more accurate and the old styles were a size smaller but as far as I know they were planning on keeping them separate. When my sisters dress came in which was an old style dress we ordered a 14 even though she is a 12 and they sent us a 6! But I will give them credit for fixing the problem and getting her the right dress. We had to let my cousins out a little and there was enough room in the seams to take it out about 2 sizes but if the 12 did not fit the size 8 then that won't work. I am sure they will get it all worked out they seem to be reasonable at that loccation.

Please keep us updated on what happens because we ordered our bridemaids dresses from that same location.

Also when mistakes happen I find going into the place not all fired up and pissed off effective. It is more than likely not one particular person at the store who is responsible for the mix up. In my experiance people are more likely to go out of their way to help you if you approach them in a reasonable way and explain your situation. I found that helped a lot while planning our wedding.

Things went better than expected. I sent 2 of my girls with my mom(since it was my sisters dress that was the biggest issue) and my aunt(since the other girl was my cousin/moh) and they put the dresses back on. My cousin was able to get hers zipped with the help of those in the store. My sister on teh other hand needs to lose the 10 lbs she gained...which she finally admitted to once they said, if the measurements are different(ie have changed) then it's not our fault. I went in with my last bridesmaid and her dress zipped up fine as well. I guess we just needed the stores help LOL. They did let us know there is 1 inch on each side that it can be let out if need be and that we can wait until closer to the wedding. I think I just freaked initially because of the way the girls were explaining it to me and because of the return policy. So far all is well. Thank you girls for the info. Just fyi AA in Altamotne is great. I have never had a bad experience with then and this does not change my feelings towards them. In fact, they were extremely helpful yesterday even though they were busy.
