Just booked our venue!

Hello ladies,
We just booked our venue for may 19th, 2013. I'm just wondering what else we should be doing? Is it too early for engagement photos?
Should i start booking dj, photographer, etc?
It seems so far away but im to excited to not do anything!!

Congrats on booking your official date and venue! :-)

It wouldn't hurt to start researching DJs & Photographers since those two seem to book quickly after venues. If you book a photographer, then they can confer with you on when to do engagement pictures.

In the meantime, it never ever hurts to look at inspiration photos for decor and what not. That's where Pinterest comes in :-P

I also think now would be a good time to look at dresses as well. A good chunk of us already have ours.

I second SSaltzman. I think it's a little too early for engagement photos, but I just saw some engagement announcements in our local paper with engagement photos for April 2013, so maybe not! We actually just talked to our photographer about doing them in June

Congrats on booking your venue! I'm also getting married on May 19th

I would definitely start looking for a photographer, videographer, DJ and officiant. And we did our engagement photos already because of the time of year we wanted to take them.

May 18th and I have my dress, photographer and venue. My dress was supposed to take 18-20 weeks to come in but it took like 3-4!! So I'm going to be storing it for a long time.

The main reason I booked the photographer is that there was only one in my budget that I really liked and had great recommendations here. So I wanted to make sure I booked her.

Congrats on booking your venue!!! I agree with PP e-pics are way to early we are wanting to do our on the 1 year mark which is May 19. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I say look for photographer, dj, DOC or wedding planner, caterer if your venue does not provide one.

We just booked our venue this week!!!

I feel a little behind everyone else here as that's all we've done so far... but we looked @ 10 venues (in person.. checked out a dozen more online) before deciding on the one we booked. Looks like it's time to get going on booking photographer, DJ, etc... should we be booking florist at this point too or is it too far out?

Our wedding is May 17, 2013 and booked Venue, DJ, Party Bus, Photographer. We are planning on taking engagement photos in April or May for our STD. Planning on sending out the STD end of August. Also I want to try airbrush makeup for the photos...so I need to contact the salon in the next month or so. Time is moving..LOL! I think it's never too early. May & June are popular for weddings, proms, etc. Start early so you can get what you want. The party bus is booked now to avoid scrambling around for transportation later...... good luck
