Wedding Invitations

Hi, Does anyone know a good local invitation shop preferably in the Manhattan/Queens area? I'd like to walk into a place and see the actual invitations before buying them online. I'm also on a budget so I don't want to splurge. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think wedding invites are fairly standard across the board in pricing (or else really expensive for high end ones), but if you want to see some in person, CardoMat up by Columbia has a bunch of books (so, probably, do a lot of stationery stores) http://cardomatnyc.com/.

In addition, if you go to The American Wedding's website, you can order samples, I think 3 or 4 at a time and they come pretty quickly and are quite cheap.

I guess what do you consider cheap :)

I am meeting with Dochelle (42nd and Madison Ave) tomorrow. The invites with reception card, RSVP card and RSVP envelope start at $8.50 per.  She is about the cheapest I found in NYC...

http://www.dochelle.com - you can see all her designs.

She does charge for a consultation to see the invitations in person, but that fee is applied to the total cost of the invites if you buy them from her. So if you know you like them it's worth it to go see them in person.

I'll let you know tomorrow how they look!

If you're on a budget - this may sound crazy, but I ordered my invites online from Costco! I was able to get a sample for like maybe 5 bucks, and then specify how I wanted the text.  They're thermography printed and I think they look great!

Thanks for the posts. Does anyone know if Exclusively Weddings is any good? I keep getting their catalogs in the mail.

I am using Elle Ette, they are based out of Hoboken (I know, Jersey), but they have been great so far. And I found them to be just a little more than some online sites, and these are custom, so it was worth it to me.
