PA flowers

I'm a PA in one of my best girlfriend's wedding in May. She e-mailed me the other day and said she wanted to order me a wrist corsage rather than a bouquet. I really hate ahving things like that on my wrist. I won't even put a wristband on at an amusement park or similar, it just bugs me having something big or something that would get sweaty, on my wrist.Ultimately, it's her wedding and I'll do whatever her preference is.... but do you think I could ask her to just omit flowers for me? Or a pinned corsage instead? Or is that just rude? She's one of my best friends and I'm doing a ton for her wedding; pics, design, research, STDs, map, etc.... I feel like it wouldn't be out of line in this situation, but don't know what the standard wedding etiquette is. :/

    If it were just a mild preference, then I'd say no--just go with what she wants.  But since it's actually a strong physical discomfort issue, I'd say you should go ahead and ask her if another option might be possible.  I can't imagine she'd want you to be super uncomfortable on her wedding day, so I would think that she would be receptive about this.

    I'd say you should get a pinned corsage for utility reasons - you won't be able to perform all your PA duties with a wrist corsage in the way :)

    I was just going to say what Little Sweetie said. My PA was under my dress more than once smoothing layers out...and if she had a wrist corsage on, it would have ruined those flowers. Maybe you could present that angle, if she has a dress that will need to be reckoned with! :)

    Since she's your best friend, I'd just tell her you prefer a pinned vs wrist corsage.  I don't think she'll mind either way.

    I would agree with the ladies above! The only way it would bug me as the bride is if there was more then 1 PA, but otherwise it saves money normally to do pin on, or non at all... most likely she is just ordering flowers for you because it makes you more included in the wedding party, so if you dont care I would assume most brides would love to save the money! If she does care then pin on is a great solution, and like everyone said before, it will allow her to move around more :)

    Ugh. I HATE wrist corsages. I think you could definitely suggest that she make it a pinned corsage and wear it on your dress (for practicality reasons). Maybe she thought you'd prefer a wrist corsage because it wouldn't put holes in your dress like a pin would.

    You can always just take the wrist part off and pin it on yourself. This is what I did for my cousins wedding and no one was the wiser. It didn't cause any issues and I didn't make more of a deal about it. This may be an easy way around the situation. Otherwise just talk to her about doing a pinned corsage. I would let her get you one though. It is one of the many ways she is able to thank you for your services and show it publically.

    Thanks, girls! I will talk to her. I am the only PA, so we don't have to worry about that. And I had a pinned one for our other girlfriend's wedding in November, so maybe I'll put the bug in her ear that that would be better. Thanks again, for all the tips!
