dress alterations

I got my dress from Henry's Cloud Nine. It fits at the top but too long. I was going to take it back to get altered but I read some really bad reviews about their alterations. Any suggestions of places to get a dress altered that is reasonable?

So you know Henri's no longer does alterations however they have a list of people who do in lots of different areas. So you could always ask them for the name and number of a few different alters. So you could then ask around about how those people and places are with their alterations! Good Luck!!! i also have to find someplace to get mine done too since i got my dress there!!!

I also got my dress there as well as some prom/formal dresses back when I was in high school ~ I used to take my formal gowns that needed alterations to a little shop in North Canton I think called Cable Custom Clothiers? It's on 10th and Main Street like over by the high school. They were willing to work on clothes that other tailors and seamstresses wouldn't work on due to beading/structure of the garment. Another time I had a dress altered at Abbott's Bridal in North Canton, but I also bought the dress there so I don't know if they will do alterations on stuff you didn't buy there. Not sure where I'll take my dress this time though but if you're in that area maybe ask around at those places.

Hey is this Tiff from the U of A? If so this is Ashley. I still come onto the boards now and again. Anyways, I was in a wedding about a month ago and took my dress to Suzanne's Alterations and Bridal. She is located in Aurora about a min or two from Aurora Farms. She did a nice job. Good Luck!

K Byte--- I bought my wedding dress from Abbott's and still not sure if I'll have it altered there. Did they do good work for yours?

It was a prom dress ... it didn't need much alterations, I think just a bit of a hem and taken in a bit around the waist. I thought they did a good job, the dress fit well, and I remember it being affordable, but that was I don't even want to talk about how many years ago ;-)

I have heard a lot of good things about Julieanne's in Olmsted Falls.  From what I've heard in the past, they are very affordable.
