Kindle, Sony Reader, or B&N Reader?

Do any of you have one or know someone who has one?  I'm thinking about getting one for Bill for Christmas in order to cut down on the number of real books in our house.  He loves dealing with Amazon but I want to make sure we get the best reader with a huge library.  TIA!

I have a Kindle and I love it! Amazon does have a huge library, and being able to purchase books directly from the device is really nice. There are some things that are not available. This summer I really wanted to re-read The Time Traveler's Wife and the Harry Potter series, and they are not available for Kindle. But, that is most likely a publisher/licensing issue (J.K. Rowling, I'm looking at you!), and would be simlar on any device. There is a way to upload documents to it also, so if he wanted to read something in the public domain, he could get it for free from Project Gutenberg (or elsewhere) and upload it. There are a lot of cool features, too. Let me know if you have any questions!

I know a few coworkers who own Kindles.  They really like them.  They keep telling me I should get one for up here...though I'm sure the boss lady would still pitch a fit about it.

I love my Kindle! I got it for my birthday earlier this year. I think Amazon has the bigger library than the other two. Most books are $9.99 but I've bought some that were $7.99 or less and the downloads are pretty quick.

Can someone tell me what a Kindle is? I've heard a lot of people talking about them and I know it has to do with books but I'd like to know what I'm missing out on TIA! :)

The Kindle, Sony Reader, and Barnes and Noble Reader are all e-readers, which are devices that can be used to read e-books. http://www.amazon.com/kindle The Kindle is great because it uses an e-paper display, which makes it easy on the eyes. I'm not sure what kind of displays the others have.

I love my kindle! DH bought it for me. It holds 1500 books and is so easy to use. I wouldn't trade it for anything!
