DJ search

Next on my list of checks is the DJ.  I've contacted a few based on recs here and the weddingwire and just wanted to check on a few things.Regarding Absolute Entertainment - their prices are based on the "tier" of DJ you choose.  I've heard a few names thrown around in relation to them but have no idea who is in what tier.  Tier 3 seems a tad pricy, but are the tier 2 DJs any good?? I don't think I will even bother with tier 1.  Also, I've seen a lot of great recs on weddingwire for Frank Young but not much here.  Does anyone have any experience with him? His prices seem really good. Also looking into mydeejay who I've heard a lot about as well. Thanks in advance! :)

I used Evan from MyDeejay and was VERY pleased with their services. See my bio for full review of them but Evan was great to work with and I love that they will track down any song not in their catalogue for you.

I'm not sure about Absolute Entertainment, but I've only heard good things about mydeejay - however, they get booked up really early so I would check with them ASAP about your date.

From my experience:    We went with Absolute Entertainment.  We were idiots to do so, because, and this is our fault completely, it was almost a bait and switch.  The guy who did our initial show when we booked was great-he was really dynamic and really in tune with us.  We should have walked away once we heard we wouldn't know who our DJ was until right before.  Our DJ was NOT that way the day of the wedding.  Did he do a fine job?  Yeah-but considering we paid a lot more than what most people were, we were not happy that the quality was nothing more than just "average".  I think my High School Prom DJ did a better job than what this guy did.  We asked for an MC, and we got a very standard DJ-who said our last name wrong the whole time!  So please be aware of this-I have heard the Tier 1 DJ's were well worth their cost-but I would warn for whatever Tier 2 and Tier 3-I don't know what ours was considered (as they never explained a Tier system), but we were not impressed AT ALL.Melissa

SLPMel - Yikes, that's scary! I'm not real comfortable with the tier system to begin with, so I may just skip over them...
