Wedding heels issues!

So.....my FI and I are not too different as far as height. He's about 3 inches taller than I am. The problem....I LOVE HEELS! But, even though FI is adamant that he has no issue with this at the wedding, I just don't want to be taller than him in the pictures....Opinions?

I want to be shorter than my FI. If I were to wear heels than I would be taller than him so im planning on wearing flats

I guess my one peeve is with the pictures when we're up at the altar. I'm not too keen on looking taller than him. It's not a huge thing, just something I know that might bother me later. I don't care much after that point. He doesn't care, and I love him all the more for it. It's not a huge thing, really. I'm definitely making a bigger deal out of it than I should, I suppose.

I'm 3 inches taller than my DH. I still wore heels. My DH loves me in heels, even though I tower over him. The wedding gods didn't strike me down. If you are confident with your height, it really doesn't matter if you are the same height or taller than him. If it makes you uncomfortable to be taller and you'll hunch the whole time, look for flats.

What about 1-2 inch heels?Personally, even if FI was a foot taller than me I wouldn't have considered anything much higher than a 1 inch heel for my own comfort reasons. I'm one of those women that really doesn't like removing my shoes halfway through the night, so if I can't walk and dance comfortable, it is not the shoe for me.Which, my FI is barely 4 inches taller than me, and I did wind up selecting a 1 inch heel.

I'm considering shorter heels. I just need to find a pair that I really like, and unfortunately that hasn't happened yet....

Do you honestly think looking taller than your H in pictures makes him less of a "man"?

I'll be taller than FI. We're the same height and I'm wearing 3.5" heels. In a perfect world, I'd wear flats or 2" heels, but they feel weird to me and I love the shoes I got, so taller than him I will be. You're always going to look taller than him in other pictures, why would you want to look different on the wedding day?

If it bothers you then wear flats. No one is going to know under your dress anyway.

DH is only 1" taller than I am, and I, too, didn't want to be taller in the pictures. He says it doesn't bother him, but I don't like it. So, I went with a very cute low-heeled strappy sandal. They're very comfortable, and I wear them often.

It's not that I think him looking shorter makes him less of a man or anything like that. I'm absolutely secure about my guy. I'm not horribly uncomfortable with the idea, it's really just a pet peeve. I do have time to get around to actually making any decisions. I was just wondering if there were other brides to be out there who were in the same situation so I could get some feedback. Thanks ladies!

It's only an issue as you are making it one.Either you wear heels, or you don't. Either you are taller than him in the pictures, or not. I am wearing flats as I am more comfortable in them. And will be far more comfy in them for several hours. I can say that FI prefers me in flats and he likes that I am petite, however his preference with me wearing flats has nothing to do with me being taller in heels (I would still be shorter). However if I wanted to wear heels, I would (and he would also be quite cool with that!).

I'm in a similar situation... FI is less than half an inch taller than me, and who is taller tends to vary by who is wearing what kind of shoes.

We make jokes about it.I admit I'm there with the OP about wedding pictures, though. I don't really want to appear taller. That's mostly my own body insecurity and I know it, but it's there and it's tangible and I doubt it's going to go away.I have trouble walking in heels, so I wouldn't be wearing more than 1-1.5" heels anyway. With his dress shoes, that'll probably put us about even. For me, I think I want at least a small heel because I've noticed it helps my posture. I have a tendency to hunch, and that's something I DO NOT want to be doing at my wedding. My hunched prom picture from high school is horrible enough.Back to the original question, though... if there's a 3" difference already... I think you have 3" to work with for heels and (in my heel-hating opinion) that's plenty! His dress shoes will lift him up a little, too.
