NWR(Well, kinda is): Motivation....

So, I know a few weeks back some of us posted on trying to stay fit for our dresses! and I have been kinda having a hard time staying motivated...I used to be a total "gym rat" and love to workout once I get there, it's the getting there part...So my question is...how do you keep motivated?

This is not going to be helpful at all, but I'm the exact same way. I love working out, but I can't seem to force myself to drive there. I just cancelled my gym membership yesterday and DH bought a home gym, complete with an eliptical. I'm pretty excited about it :) I think it's really important to get into the right state of mind. Maybe try to make it about being healthy instead of just fitting into a dress for one day.

Hi April! This might not help either (LOL) but here's how I managed to stay motivated. Last semester I took a work-out class at the local community college. It was about 1.5 hours 2 or 3 days a week. The reason I stayed motivated was not only because I wanted to get fit but also because I was doing it for credit/grade. I found that very helpful. I plan on doing this again next semester.=)

LOL! Acutally those are both great ways to keep on track...I used to do fitness swim at the college and that was great! hummm....maybe I will look into it next semester =)

It was my post.  :-)  Here are my tips:1.  Hire a personal trainer (if you can afford it...I scored a huge deal on mine).  I have three that I work with throughout the week.  They are getting me into exercise I never thought I would like such as kick boxing.2.  Reward yourself for meeting goals (but not with food).  Did you lose three pounds this week?  Good, now go buy that extra wedding accessory or romantic movie that you have had your eye on.3.  Get a work out buddy...nothing like it!  :-)

I hear you on the workout buddy thing. No worries though...a gym is a great place to meet people! I just joined the gym in our new town (just bought a house here in May). I didn't know anyone from here until I started working out. Now I have about ten people that I know. One happens to be my neighbor across the street!! :-)
