Housing Works Bookstore Cafe

Hi FI and I stumbled upon the Housing Works Bookstore cafe in our search for a venue. We fell in love. As we are getting closer to make the jump and sign on the dotted line I was wondering if anyone has ever been to a wedding there? I'm a little concerned about the size. We are inviting about 175 and everything I've read says that we will end up with about 160 coming. Is the book store big enough? They insist it is, but I'm just double checking. We want a relaxed cocktail style dinner with no time restrictions like a sit down dinner. Basically a big giant party with our friends and family in a cool NYC spot. Any advice/comments you have about the bookstore would be greatly appreciated!

I had come across their site but wish they had more pictures of what other weddings looked like using the space.  I hope you get feedback from others.  What were their prices like?  (if you don't mind saying)

I've never been to an event there but I've been there several times for browsing. You can probably fit all the people but just not have enough space for dancing/mingling.

Not sure if this link will work or not, but this series of photos popped up in my news feed today https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.302862309725578.85149.199299406748536&type=1

It looks like they had a lot less than 160 guests, but the venue is really fun.  If the link doesn't work, find JBM Wedding Photography on Facebook, the album is Sean & Kate's Wedding.

And no, I don't work for them, or anyone actually.  I follow this guy for interesting photo ideas for my own upcoming wedding.

Thank you for your respsonses! Bluebutterflyz I PMed you with some pricing info. I think we are going to go see the space set up for an actual wedding. I really love it there so much. We went to look at other places yesterday and nothing compared- so I guess my guests better like one another if it is going to be a tight squeeze- ha! ;)

You might be cutting it close size wise. You don't want guests to be uncomfortable the whole time that they are at your wedding. Keep in mind there's going to be dancing, and guests are going to get hot- they're not going to want to be in close quarters with one another
