Tasting Tides Brides

I'm getting married at that Tides Estate December 1st.  I called to see if could schedule my tasting and was told that I don't get a tasting, I just pick out the food menu and table linens.  I could have sworn that Ron told me that we get to bring our parents and have a tasting to pick out our menu.

Did anybody else go thru this?  I'm so confused.

Also, I know some places let you pick out a signature drink.  Does anybody know if the Tides does this?

Thanks in advance for your help..

Nicole

Re: Tasting Tides Brides

  • I'm working with Tito and actually same thing happened to us.  We clearly remember that was what they told us when we booked, and when we called .. they scheduled a "meeting."  We went alone, but still assumed it was our tasting.  It was a quick meeting to pick menu, linens and cake.  Kind of weird but we had been to the open house when we decided to book so we knew the food was great.  Otherwise, I probably would have been more upset about it.
  • that must be a new thing, when I got married at the Tides a few years ago, we got to do a tasting when we went to pick out our menu.   Maybe since they do the Open Houses now, they don't do tastings?
  • We called back and spoke with Tito and he scheduled out tasting.
I think you have to ask for it now or you don't get it.
We are going next week, can't wait.
We are wondering if they let you pick out a signature drink.
Thanks for all of your help.

  • We got married there in April and our tasting was in January.  We were told we could invite both sets of parents.  We just went ourselves though.  You basically get to sample a beef, chicken and fish meal.  We would up going with a different chicken without tasting it.  We went on a Saturday evening before a wedding there.  They were setting up the room as we were sitting there.  I think we got to sample the meals that were set up for that night.  That night we picked out our linens, ice sculpture, cocktail hour and cake.

With regard to signature drinks... we had 4.  (Some Old, Somethign Borrowed, Something New and Something Blue).  I had a menu with the drinks listed on each bar.  They were cool with it, but just needed to give them the receipes for the drinks if they were something unusual.  Everyone loved it.
