Very cute idea... and, actually, if you ask local wineries and/or restaurants to save their corks for you (then buy a knife and the cards)... you can do it for next to nothing!

That's what we did for our escort card holders. We did our names and wedding date on them.

Thats what we are doing too, we are having the vineyard save their corks and they said they can do it for us, because in one of the pictures they have of weddings one couple did this and i thought it was such a great idea.

I am also doing this for our escort cards! We actually have a friend who has a huge basket of corks saved up over the years. My fiance is going to cut the corks so that we can put the cardstock escort cards into them. Think it will be very cute!

We are doing something just a little bit different... I have pretty neat cursvie writing (can sort of almost do calligraphy I guess... lol) so I will be handwriting each guests name onto a cork... we will be using these for our escort cards.

Also, see if a local restaurant will. Olive Garden is saving corks for us! We did a similar escort card, except we had a mini-pyramid of 3 (two on bottom, one on top) so the base was higher and more stable. We just hotglued them together.

We are doing this too! Love the idea! We asked our winery to save corks, and they were more than happy to give them to us! The corks even have the name of the winery on them.

Another idea, I am going to name the tables after wines instead of numbering the tables!

what a great idea!!!! oh i want to do this now. I have a year to save up my own corks lol or that's a great idea to ask the vineyard. question: did you put them on something so they're not just rolling around or did they just stay standing like that on their own?

I like the idea of using a wine bottle as my centerpiece. I was thinking of putting a simple sunflower in it. Has anyone had any luck putting their own labels on the bottle? Do I need some special paper/glue/craft item? I know I can't just print out a pic and tape it on of course :P
