Aruba honeymoon?!

Anyone been to Aruba / going to Aruba? Can you suggest an all inclusive resort?

Re: Aruba honeymoon?!

  • You don't really do all-inclusive there because the island is VERY safe and has great food options all over the place to try. I had some of the best seafood I've never had while there. We stayed at the Hyatt, which was beautiful and 100% amazing. I've heard nice things about the Radisson next door also.

  • I don't think Aruba has any all-inclusive resorts either. Everytime we go to Aruba we stay at the Hyatt and it's absolutely gorgeous! I highly recommend staying there. My close friends stay at the Playa Linda which is a very nice hotel as well.
  • There definitely are some all inclusive options in Aruba. The Tamarjin is a quiet, huts on the beach kind of place - and its right next door (and part of) a larger resort which name is escaping me. Its in the "low rise" section of Aruba.

The occidental hotel definitely has an all-inclusive option as well if you want to be in the highrise area.

I will say however, that if you are big drinkers and eaters (we are) its a necessity if you are on a budget. Aruba has GREAT restaurants and nightlife - but it is a bit pricey. If you can afford to splurge - worth going to different restaurants and checking things out - if you need an AI - those are 2 options.
  • There are AI in Aruba--I think Riu Palace (there are few girls here that have stayed at AI's in Aruba, so they can chime in), but I agree you don't need to stay at an AI. There are tons of great restaurants there.

We stayed at the Hyatt, and I agree w/pp's--it is fantastic!  We also stayed a few nights at the Renaissance, which is downtown, closer to the airport.  They have an adults only hotel, pool and a private island.  I didn't like the rooms at the Renaissance as much as our room at the Hyatt, but it was still nice.
  • I agree with the others don't stay at an AI if you don't have to.  We are staying at the Bucuti Tara Beach Suites for 3 nights and then the Renaissance for 6 nights.

Thank you for the suggestions! We are SERIOUSLY considering the tamarjin :. Looks so great!
  • I went to Aruba about 4 yrs ago and stayed at the Marriott. I HIGHLY, STRONGLY recommend it! It was renovating and building an addition back then but I didnt notice till you walked right next to it. The hotel was immaculate, staff was super helpful and everything was clean and pretty. I loved that it was the last hotel on the island, so there was plenty of beach left to roam around. Tons of activities if you're into that. The only thing I didnt like was that if you weren't up early enough you couldn't get a beach lounge chair because they were stalked by everyone.

</div><div>FI and I have got the drinking on an expensive island down. (We tend to go a little overboard on vacation). Bring one of those soft collapsable cooler beach bag things in your suitcase- they don't take up too much room. Go to one of those Asian grocery stores on the island and buy a ton of Balashi beer, couple bottles of wine, sodas, and some rum. Pack everything in the cooler in plenty of ice and go to the beach. All the beaches in Aruba are public, so it's not like the resort can say anything to you for BYOBing and I doubt they even noticed. But they opened a few bottles of wine for us and provided glasses, so I doubt they'd even care.

  • We are staying at the Riu Palace which is an AI, but our honeymoon was a wedding gift and we couldn't be more happier. But like everyone said you don't necessarily have to stay at an AI the food is delicious around the island and it is safe.

  • We just got back from our Honeymoon in Aruba and absolutely loved it.  It was my 3rd time and my Husbands first time.  We stayed at the Marriott and had an amazing time.  :)

  • We stayed at the Tamarjn last September. It was AMAZING! Every room is beach front and you can use all the restaurants at the Divi as well. It was the best vacation we've been on! :) we also did skydive aruba, which was incredible!
