Hey everyone!

How is everyone? Any big weekend plans?

TGIF!! There is a "Love and Respect" relationship conference at our church tonight and all day tomorrow that FI and I are attending, along with ome of our other friends. So excited!! Sunday afternoon I am taking my BM's out to lunch and then we are going to pick up their dresses and I hopefully will be able to find some clothes I like for our engagement pictures. We are planning on doing 3 outfits, one of them Bears gear so I just need 2 outfits worth.

  • Rel...so excited that its under 6 months, but also super nervous!! I hope it goes by fast! I still cant get over the fact that we have the same date :]

I have no big plans for this weekend other than to get some grocery shopping done and sleep in. I cannot wait to sleep in.

My best friend went to Vegas & I think she comes back on Sunday. Its been so weird without her around. She lives right next door to me, so we see each other multiple times a day. Im excited for her to come back.

  • Nothing big planned for this weekend. Getting caught up on school work, my new weekend past time. I also have plans to try to reconnect with a friend that I lost contact with a couple of years ago, but she's rescheduled 3x now, so we'll see what happens.

  • Right now I am more anxious than nervous. I feel excited that's its under 6 mths now, but at the same time I feel like the 6 mths is going to take forever!! Good thing we had a short engagement to begin with (9mths). Sierra, have you gotten good reactions about the wedding being Labor Day weekend?? Did you decide to go with the heaters for the shower?

  • We're having a short engagement too, 9 months. After 6 years together, I'm ready! LOL!

I work all weekend. Hopefully next week we can start our registry. I still need to pick out save the dates or make them if I have time.
What do you all think of homemade jelly/jam for favors at a wedding? One of my grandmothers(dad's mom) who is no longer living, loved to make them and I think it would be a nice touch to the wedding. FI doesn't like the idea though.

Yeah I have got great reactions about labor day weekend. Everybody seems to like it because they get an extra day to recover from the wedding. I was kind of nervous at first because alot of people make plans for that weekend, but it seems to be working out. I had such a long engagement. We got engaged almost a year ago! I remember thinking "omg, its going to go by so slow & we have tons of time!" and now its like "wait, where did that year go?!" I feel like I just got engaged yesterday & now its already 6 months away. I think we are def going to go with the heaters.

  • Happy under-6-month-mark, Sierra and Rel!

I'm a little tardy today because I spent the first 4 hours of my day in an interview. Blech. So glad that is over.

FI is picking me up at work at 2:30 and we are skipping town to go celebrate my dad's birthday. It's going to be a crazy, not relaxing AT ALL weekend, but I'm taking my nieces to try on flower girl dresses, so hopefully that will be fun.

  • Pickl--4 hour long interview?! Yikes, I would be sweating! Was that for the job you weren't as excited about? Hopefully you hear back from the interview you had last week you really want! Hope your weekend isn't as crazy/stressfull as you are anticipating. How old are your nieces? My flower girls are sisters, 6 and 7, and are the age where they are so freaking excited it's adorable! I saw them last weekend and they were showing me their flower sprinkling skills since they have been practicing :)

  • I am so happy it's Friday. In my department it's only me and one other lady who has been gone on vacation for the last three weeks. Work has been overwhelming and I've been working 12+ hour days. So happy to work an 8 hour one today.

Plus BIL's GF's birthday was two days ago and we're going out to celebrate, celebrate another girls birthday tomorrow and my sons on Sunday. I'm going to be one tired lady on Monday.

Our wedding is going to have kind of a vintage theme. Any suggestions on favors since FI doesn't like the jelly/jam idea and can't come up with anything else?

  • We are having a rustic theme...we are having a photo booth though so those our going be our favors since guests can get as many photo strips as they would like. I'm not really a favor person which is why we are going with the photo booth...We usually walk away with little "trinkets", candles, etc that we don't keep. Which is why I liked your idea, because it was different and yet useful. Sorry I'm not much help :(

I'm doing home made apple sauce. I also like honey for a rustic theme, or little succulents (plants) in those tiny galvanized steel pots.

<div>Sorry for the delay, rel -- you prob won't see this, but I'm going to answer you anyway!</div><div>
</div><div>Yes, this interview was for my second choice job. Since I still haven't heard about my first choice job (it's been 2 weeks now) I'm pretty sure it's a no. Oh well. So we will see how this second job pans out. The weekend was actually not as nuts as I thought it would be, but I was still glad to get home. My siblings and I all got wasted on Saturday night, which was really fun. And we picked out the flower girl and jr. bridesmaids dresses, which is a huge check off of the list. I have 6 nieces ranging in age from 2 to 11 -- and they are all in the wedding. God help me.</div>

*Why* does he not like the jelly/jam idea? It seems you could easily incorporate the theme with that favor.  Is it the flavor he objects to?  Does he not himself like jelly/jam?

I think doing jelly or jam with a really old fashioned style of label would work really well.  A fabric with ribbon around the jar lid, and a hand-written label glued on below.

If this does not work, how about using the same jars (jam jars) and doing little candles?  Same packaging
