Hi-I'm new and have question about planning

Hi,

I'm just newly engaged this past weekend and we are excited to be planning our wedding!

We would love to get married in Jan or Feb but wanting to get the best deals on certain things.

Is there an off season here where discounts would apply? Or is the wedding season pretty much "on" year round here. We just moved here last year so curious before we start planning! Thank you!

    Welcome and Congrats!!!!!!!

Some places may have better deals on the "off-season", but I think better deals are different days.  It depends on what you want, how many people and your location...  As you start getting into things, let us know and we'll be happy to help!!!

Also, from what I've learned after talking to a wedding planner, an early-in-the-day wedding will also save on costs.

(We are having a morning/afternoon wedding&reception and she was shocked that we didn't choose the time because of savings. We chose it because of daylight for photography)

Thank you for your wise words ladies! I never thought about a day ceremony! I love that idea actually! A brunch/lunch or late lunch sounds heavenly actually!

So am I to take it there really is no "off" season here?

I think in L.A. off season means less busy, which means more dates available but not less costs. One thing I have seen was less minimums on certain days or times. So one of the rooms we selected on a Saturday night has a $14,000 minimum but Saturday for lunch there is just a 150 person minimum- any dollar amount.

There's not really an "off" season for California weddings, BUT if you select to get married on a Sunday or mid-week day, that usually significantly lowers the price! (And the date you want is almost always available, as most weddings/rehearsal dinners are Fridays and Saturdays)
