Edible favours in Maui?

We want to give edible favours for our 70 guests.  I'd like to keep it ~ $5 per person.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  We considered getting macarons from our hotel, but they are charging $15 for each favour (3 macarons - crazy).

Ideally it would be something locally made.

We gave our guests drinkable favors - Waialua Soda - in their welcome bags (pic in bio under welcome bags).  You could give it as a favor if you'd like.  It's made on Maui, and we got our cases at Costco.  Way under $5/favor.

not sure if you're interested in manju?  On Maui there's a place called home made bakery that makes yummy pastry type of things.  or komoda bakery makes yummy cream puffs too.  that's stuff that we always bring home when we go to maui :)

Costco has heaps of individually packaged goodies, like chocolate mac nuts, mac nut cookies or maui chips.

I know some brides have used a local shortbread cookie company, but I don't know its name, sorry.

The chocolate dipped shortbread cookies are from Honolulu Cookie Company or Big Island Candies.  Personally I prefer the Big Island Candies cookies.

Are you looking for something specifically Maui?  As Cari mentioned, Homemaid Bakery has manju and mochi.  That is what locals from the other islands usually pick-up when visiting Maui.  If you're just looking for something from Hawaii, I'd check out Costco or Wal-Mart.  They also sell macadamia nut Hershey Kisses that are only available in Hawaii.

ooh, I like these... will pick these up, maybe for the welcome BBQ?  I need to attach escort cards to them, not sure how to attach them to soda.  Plus I dont' think our venue will let us bring outside beverages in.

I'm not familiar with manju - does it have a flaky pastry coating?  it kind of looks like a moon cake to me.

all of the pre-packaged stuff is.  BoBride made a post recently, I'm pretty sure the topic is "?" now, but it shows how she attached her escort cards to the soda bottles.  They're glass bottles, so she hung the card on a ribbon around the bottles' neck.
