Is lighting worth it?

I can't decide if I should add lighting to our reception at Aureole.  Its 100$ per light and it just seem so overpriced but then again everyone keeps saying I should just do it.

Do you have options on who to go with or can you only use that vendor?
That's a lot per light, shop around if you can. I personally really like lighting effects. So does FI, but he also does lighting for a living. We're looking into renting it out here and bringing it out.

That's a good idea. I should ask the restaurant instead of going through MB vendors. I just can't really validate spending 100$ per light.

direy25 just friends who said it really makes the room look awesome.

Gotcha.  Are you hiring a DJ?  Our DJ did our lighting for us but it was part of the package.

I'm really glad we went with some add-on lighting in Mix; got it through our DJ, pretty reasonable price.

Woolard Productions was the cheapest I found, it's $300 for 10 lights and he's going to bring a couple extra just in case.  He's the preferred vendor for a couple bigger places as well.

I think lighting does add something to a space.

Lighting does add extra to the feel of the venue but $100 p/ light is a little much for ambience IMO

We used lighting to make our big reception space (China Grill) feel smaller and more intimate.  But, China Grill provided all of it for us at no additional cost.  If you are paying top dollar for Aureoule ask them if they can pull some strings or call in a favor with a lighting vendor.
