Flowers- what is the avg cost? I have no clue!

love flowers and went to my regular florist for my wedding, because I know she is good and knows my style.  We got our quote back and FI thinks it is outrageous, but I don't have a clue about what these things cost.  My bouquet is $250.  The centerpieces are $125, and we went with manzinita branches with 6 roses which I knowis expensive.  My girl said that the avg centerpiece price is $125.  She is def willing to work with us to reduce costs, and we are getting another quote, but I figured I would ask you experts, what did you pay for centerpieces and your bouquet, and what was in there?

I don't want to cheap out because I love flowers, and I really like the idea of going with someone I trust, but we also don't want to be breaking the bank.  Thanks so much for your input!

I think budget tools recommond that 5-10% of your budget goes to flowers.

My bouquet cost around what you were quoted:

My centerpieces were really different from what you're contemplating, so the cost wouldn't translate.

I'm sure we could have gotten everything cheaper from another florist, but we loved our florist and her ideas so we went for her even though she wasn't the lowest priced one out there.

Well, I know I am certainly paying above any average because we really want very dramatic flowers - so our centerpieces are $230 each (and they are very over the top). When I say above average though, the florist we chose was very fair in her pricing and not even the most expensive one we saw. For flowers, I found that most florists' quotes all came in within the same range (plus or minus $25 either way)...except one lady who wanted like $275 and she had no idea what I even wanted (I think she said $275 so we wouldn't pick her honestly). My bouquet is $210 and it includes roses, orchids, stephanotis, lots of crystals, etc. I think $125 for centerpieces is vrey fair, I'm not sure about your bouqet though...that might be high, but in the grand scheme of things I looked at the total price rather than really being picky about what each thing was costing.

I found this site helpful- Santos lists their prices/pics of centerpieces.

Although they are further discounted. I did tall -big centerpieces and they were $90 each.  Those branches are more $$ for some reason, seems silly right?

I think it really depends on what you are getting. My bouquet is $150 and my centerpieces are about $40 but we are doing small square vases with roses, gerbera daisies and hydrangeas.

We got low centerpieces for $20 apiece.

My bouquet was, I think, about $125-150?

My bouquet is $150 and our centerpieces are $50, that doesn't include the vase though and they are small and square.  $125 sounds about right for trees lol.

My bouquet is $75 (roses and stargazers), centerpieces $45/each (low and wide with roses, mums, sunflowers, kangaroo paw, etc).

My florist just told me $75 for an all rose bouquet --- no greenery. She can do low centerpieces of roses/dahlias (no greens) for $50, which includes purchase of the vase. She also said she would do roses/lilies for the same price. Bouts are $7.95 for roses and mom's corsages (cymbodium orchids) are about $25. She was very willing to work with a budget. I went to Kingsland and Franklin Florals in Nutley, NJ.

We are only buying Flowers for the bridal party. The florest wanted 700$. My sister told me to go to shoprite. The entire package was 333$  One problem no delivery I have to pick up but its worth saving 400$!

Thanks ladies.  I think we have to re-think the manzanita branches possibly.  We are getting another quote from another vendor as well.  The problem is our venue has really high celings so I think we have to go with something tall, as much as I love those shorter, packed centerpieces.

We may be back to the drawing board!
