Re: Non-White or White Shoes?

  • I would definitely go with red shoes. I love a pop of color with wedding dresses.

My opinion is to wear white shoes. I know that must sound funny coming from me! Although, red shoes are hot too. I popped into payless briefly to look for (black) shoes for my bridesmaids (with no luck), and I ended up trying on some shoes in the "dyeables" section. I actually loved them!!!!!! I'm thinking e-pics! I want a pair myself! Really though, it's all about what you're comfortable in. :)

I also wanted to say that I LOVE that dress! It is adorable and sexy at the same time. Sometimes I want to go to David's Bridal just to try on some dresses that I would never actually wear to my own wedding. I just want to try them all on so I can say that I did and get pictures in them. That would definitely be one of the dresses that I would try on. :)

  • You know what? You could go pick up a pair of white and a pair of red shoes and go in and try them on with your dress. Have someone take pictures. Just keep your receipt and return them if they don't work. :)

  • I say go with the red shoes!!

  • i think with a shorter dress white shoes might be better, but thats juts my opinion. i have a floor length dress and im weaing bright bright red shoes (not picked out yet) under it. I think it really depends on the style of the shoe you were thinking of

  • thanks, ladies! i did put the dress on layaway today at Davids so its officially the one!
i do love the idea of the pale green gloves, so with that said, i'm looking at white and nude shoes.
i think youre right, bright red shoes and green gloves would be too much color and i think distracting.
now im stuck at home bc we are getting a blizzard here in Ohio, boo.
    stay warm, everyone!

  • definitely get non-white shoes!  I want coloured shoes too, but I'm not sure if I'm going to go with violet or deep navy yet!

  • I thought about going with different colored shoes but had a hard time finding ones that have a small heel and still look pretty. My groom is only about 2 inches taller then me and I didn't want to be taller them him. I'm going with the traditional ivory bridal shoe, because I couldn't find anything else I liked that still looks feminine. I guess I could get them dyed but it just really isn't worth the effort. *shrug*

  • hey ladies I want to thank everyone for their opinions!

I think I am going to wear red flats for the ceremony without the green gloves....

And then I figure I can change into white or nude flats or even cute dressy flip flops for the reception, and wear the gloves if I want to.

Plus, if I get 2 pairs of cute shoes, I can also wear them in the engagement photos we are planning to do in the Spring.

  • Definitely forgo the green gloves if you are going to do red shoes - maybe you could wear white gloves instead. I am thinking of putting on some short lace gloves myself when I change into my going away outfit. Oh, and I'd go with flats - flip flops are too casual for a wedding imo.

  • OK so update! I bought these adorable ruffled ballet flats today at DSW, in a pale sparkly ballet pink almost nude color. I plan on wearing them in the e-pics. No luck on red shoes, tho there are some I plan on buying online.

I tried the ruffled flats on with the dress and they look good together, so now I am back to square 1:: indecision about shoes. Sheesh. Sorry to bug you guys again..opinions are encouraged!! :)
