How long to be engaged before married for dating?

    You can be engaged for as long as you want before getting married.  I would personally allow at least 6 months just so that you have enought time to plan everything and get it all in order without having to stress too much.  The average engagement lasts about a year.  I know people who have gone longer, but much more than probably 2 years would seem kind of wierd to me.  All in all, it's what you are comfortable with and it should be an amount of time in which you can properly plan and organize for a wedding.  Good luck!

    Lucy--she's an AE that surfaced originally on SB's yesterday or the day before.  Quite entertaining, actually.  Until she started showing up everywhere else.
