Four Weeks Away-No Caterer; He Booked Another Wedding!

Knotties -- I need help -- some recommendations, and fast! This arrogant caterer of mine who wanted to make me a cardboard wedding cake anyhow -- because he was all veneer and no substance (hah) tells us tonight that he's booked a second wedding -- bigger than ours, he boasted -- for the same Sat. night in Manhattan, June 12th, and that he and his partner will have to split up for the evening to work the two weddings -- "divide and conquer" he called it.  I'm without a caterer now and have 85 people coming in!  I need someone good, with a sense of humor obviously, affordable and reasonably easy going! Suggestions?

    Awful.  You should name and shame this person.  Saturday night in June might be tough, but there's got to be one available caterer!

    Try also Esprit Catering; but that list above is quite exhaustive.  I'm using Main Event, but depending on time, it may be difficult for them to do - you'd have to find that out but very good.

    You Knotties are AMAZING! Funny thing happened on my way through this read -- my CATERER who is a hot sh--t NYC caterer (according to him and my venue)! isn't on any of your lists.  But one or two that have gotten back to me are and I wonder what you think in a bit more detail:  Nova Catering -- Chris Barbarie is working up a proposal for us by tomorrow and Chef Rossi at Raging Skillet can do it too but she's more expensive.  Anyone have experience with either of these??

    If they go south for any reason, I'll go back to your lists!

    chef rossi at the raging skillet is amazing! she does a great job with incorporating ethnic food into the menu, which is great if you are like so many NYers used to eating a different ethnicity's food every night of the week. she is also nutty and a bundle of energy and lots of fun. you would definitely have a good time working with her, and great food, though i know she isn't the cheapest.

    roseinbloom- where are you getting married? just wondering if its Studio 450 since Real Foods does a ton or weddings there.
