Wedding Party

Groomsmen Question

We have a ways until the wedding, which gives me a lot of time to get everything in order. My fiance has  no clue what to get his groomsmen, and I wanted to ask you all if you have any thoughts? They will all be between the ages of 21 and 23, and they ALL know how to party. I will be dealing with the bridesmaids, as I know them very well, and want to give them really well thought out gifts. I'm looking forwards to your ideas!

Re: Groomsmen Question

  • Like you said, you (HE) has a while to decide on this. I would worry about something else at this point in your planning.

  • I would just like to apologize for being annoyed with your FI. You responded like a non-crazy bride, and you didn't really deserve to take the brunt of my frustration. It's not your fault I'm still translating (and coming here for breaks) at 11:40pm :)

Although I still maintain you should tell your FI to just keep thinking because this is about him and his friends, and he should hopefully be able to come up with something.
  • It's taken FI a while to come up with stuff.  He consulted with SOs and close friends for a few that were particularly troublesome, or to make sure that they'd like what he was considering.  Gifts include a poker set, an executive putter set, a fedora, and a spice rack.

There's no shame in asking someone close to the guy what he might like.  Some people are just really hard to shop for.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • A flask or nice bar set?  I know when I had only been dating a guy for a few months and Xmas or their b-day came around, the bar set was my go-to gift.  He can always get them engraved with a personal message, such as a nickname or reference to an inside joke.  Toss in a bottle of each guy's booze of choice if you like.

  • Hip flasks, nice knives, barware, corkscrew set...
Think about how they live and what they do in their free time.

We're getting our GMs fadoras.  And something else too - the hats won't be "matchy" just similar style, and that's something they all like.  But they'll also get something individual too.
