Hello! So I am new to the board and thought I would share my engagement story with all of you! My fiancé and I have been dating 4 1/2 years and we had gone and looked at rings in the summer so I knew it was coming eventually, but he still pulled off a huge surprise!! On December 12, 2009 we were out all day running errands. Went to lunch, stopped at his parents, Christmas shopping and then got our Christmas Tree. We stopped and got a bottle of wine and I was so excited to decorate the tree (my favorite!) So we got home and he set up the tree and went upstairs for a few minutes while I was getting decorations together. He then yelled down from the top step, I call dibs I wanna put the first ornament on the tree, so I'm like yeah sure thinking he was being funny and wanted to put one of 'his' ornaments right at the top or something. So he told me to close my eyes and came running down the steps ( I was completely clueless at this point). When I opened them he was down on one knee in our dining room with the most beautiful ring asking me to marry him! I was so surprised I just kept saying 'are you kidding me?!' it was the best night, just us at home and totally surprised and in love!! Then we made a million phone calls and had company all night to help us celebrate! I could not be happier about marrying my best friend!!!
