THE Secret to Weight Loss!

There is no "Secret"

Ask any othe successful Brides to Be  on this site how they lost their weight.

Hard work and determination.  Forget about all the fancy BS diets.

Eat right, and workout!  The American College of Sports Medicine has come out saying that for real significant weight loss,  you need to be exercising at a moderate intensity for 200-300 minutes per week.  Which means 4-5 hours,  So 1 hour workouts,  4-5 days per week.

If you workout very intensely,  you can cut that number down.  But thats what we are looking at for weight loss.

As for diet, most studies show a high protein diet more effective in SHORT term weight loss,  less than 2 months,  at 12 months though,  a high protein diet was not more effective than any other diet.

It comes down to calories in the long run.  BUT those who drastically reduced their caloric intake lost LESS than those who redueced their daily caloric intake by 70%.

So if you have a wedding in less then 2 months,  high protein diet.

If its months away.  Just watch your calories, and yes, you can even have some bread!   I know it seems like blasphemy,  you'll be fine.

Good luck, and remember,  if its important to you,  MAKE it important in your daily life.

  • I know you're trying to be helpful, but from your SN, and some of your other posts, it's fairly obvious you're a vendor.  I'd be very careful what I posted, if I were you.

  • Just trying to help out,  Not selling or promoting anything, nor will I.  I'm trying to battle the misinformation out there and help those who are trying to look great for their big day.

    Didn't mean to offend anyone.

No offense Greg!  Most of us are trying to battle the misinformation.  That's what i'm here for.  That and because I really like these ladies and am glad to be a part of their community and even friends with some.  There was a heck of an influx of pro-HCG info recently that turned into a bit of a battle between the pro group and us anti people.

As for looking great for their "big day", we tend to concentrate on lifestyle changes as opposed to encouraging people just to lose weight or tone up for the short term.  Skinny wedding pics may last forever, but a healthy body will actually give joy for ages.

It's just that vendors are not allowed to post on these message boards at all so any reference to a website, a fitness career, or asking people to email you will be met with cries of vendor.  I find that people who truly want to use this site but happen to fall into the disallowed section of the population, do quite well if they simply do not mention any of their affiliations.  We get vendors on this site daily trying to push their fitness drinks, diet pill/vitamin combinations, their personal training business, and other assorted things that blatantly break the rules.
  • Oh, Anna. Will you be my Valentine?
  • Sorry Anna, I understand completely,  you girls must get a ton of spam and annoying stuff.

I'm not trying trying to pretend I'm not a private trainer, I am, but I'm not selling nor promoting any product nor will I.  I'll leave out any type of website.

Again I just wanted to add in some expert advice, and I agree on creating healthy lifestyles, as it will carry on even after the wedding, which is what its really about.

And I know what you mean about the HCG diet,  pure ridiculousness that somehow gains popularity,  but is downright dangerous, and sadly enough, is actaully being prescribed by doctors.  Scary.

Anyways,  Sorry again to bother,  in all honesty  just trying to help!

    Greg

  • No, you weren't BOTHERING.   I feel like you have good advice, and I didn't want you to get banned.

Sometimes my "helpfulness" comes across as bitchy.

Speaking of HCG, I'm really glad we haven't heard any more about B12 injections lately.  That one really riled me up.

    Forever and ever.
  • Hahah,

My mothers a nurse and apparently they give those out like candy.  I told her that megadoses of any B vitamin is a waste, as  its water soluble, meaning you just pee it out.  Plus most americans are not deficient in that area.

The media gets a hold of something and it just explodes without any sound evidence to back it up.

    Its ridiculous.

Glad to be of any help though!

    Greg
  • I was talking to my H about B12 (not because I want to do it, but because I like to tell him about the ridiculous things I see here, and as a pharmacist, he hates it all too) and he compared it to putting a bigger gas tank on a lawnmower, right before winter.  Sure, you can put MORE gas in it, but the lawnmower can only use so much gas at a time, and then when it sits all winter, the extra gas goes bad and you dump it out.

I loved that analogy.  It's perfect.
