Last week I had a girls weekend with a couple of my BMs. We went to one of those places where you pick out a piece of pottery and decorate it and they fire it for you. I just picked mine up yesterday. It's a plate and in the center really big is FI's last name in red. In black and in a smaller "font" I have his name above and mine below. Around the rim of the plate in red I have our wedding date.
The problem is I don't know what I want to do with it. I could give it to him as part of a wedding present but a "commemorative plate" seems like something you'd give a woman not to a man. My other thought is to have it be the plate we put that first piece of cake onto when we cut the wedding cake. I haven't told FI what it is and he has instructions not to peek until I say he can see it. What do you girls think? Should I make it part of his wedding present or have it be the cake plate? Or something else entirely?
