Day of Wedding Coordinator

Hi,

My fi and I are finally getting into the actual wedding planning.  Something we're throwing around is using a day of coordinator.  Does anyone know what the going rate is for something like that?  
We are trying to keep wedding expenses as low as possible.

    Most places I have called charge around $1500 for DOC. It might seem like a lot, but I think its totally work it!

    Yikes, 1500 seems a little high to me for a DOC. I called 2 different ones and got quoted 850 and 1200 to handle my whole wedding and not just the day of. I guess it just depends on where you are located.
     
    I'm not sure where you are located or where you are getting married. I'm getting married at Topsail beach and I have a wedding planner. She has charged me $850 and she is pretty much handling my whole wedding. I have had 2 meetings w/her so far and I love her. I'm sure it all depends on how much you want her to do but she's pretty much handling it all for me. If you want more info, just send me a msg and I will send you a link.

    I'm in Wilmington and our DOC is $400. 
    TTC#1 since April 2011
    IVF#1 July 2012 5R, 3 made it to blast, sET BFN

    I'm in the Raleigh area. My DOC charged me $250. I believe I was the first official wedding for her and her business partner. We got married in September. I'm not sure if she has increased her rates or stayed about the same.

    $1500! Wow! I used Meresith McSwain who is based in Wilmington. She was incredible! She only charged $300, but I felt like she deserved so much more with everything she did.

    Yeah, Im thinking 1500 is REALLY expensive and IMO I would only pay that if they were fan-freaking-tastic & did the whole wedding.

    I didn't have a DOC but those that I saw when planning were around the 200-500 mark , like others have said.

    One of DH grandmothers helped to run everything smoothly thankfully, but if she hadn't been there, I would have probably tried to find a DOC, or a friend that could help.

    The last thing you want to do on your wedding day is make sure that decorations and people are where they're supposed to be.

    How do I find one of these people? The woman who books at my chapel strongly suggested that we get someone to direct the rehearsal and the day of. I hadn't really planned on that but guess I should look in to it. I'm in Winston, btw.

    I would google it and see what you can find. I would also ask the woman at teh chapel if there is anyone she recommends.

    Thanks for the information.  We are in Asheboro so I doubted I could get someone from the Wilmington area to come here for $250.  I will make a note of the woman in Raleigh though.  $250 doesn't seem to bad.  Plus it would be nice to have someone "direct" everything so that we can just enjoy the day.

    Today's weddingchannel deal is $50 for $100 day of coordinating from Premier Party Planners in Raleigh.  Not sure if anyone has used them, but here is the link.  clicky
    Spoke with Nicole, she quoted $650.

    Just to add to the price ranges... I spoke with several different DOC's in the Charlotte area and was quoted anywhere from $500 to $1,500 for DOC services.  Basically, they all said they would "take over" the month before the wedding but that was 3 different people that I met with.  Best of luck in finding someone!

    I am a wedding coordinator and I only charge $300 for day of services. I am also offering 20% off all of my services. I think the price varies between $500-$2,000 (which is CRAZY to me for just a few hours of work!)
