I am thinking about using it for our M&G. Our original plan was to use the Vista, but since we have invited more people than we originally thought, and also bc there have been some issues with brides not getting a Vista, I am looking at other options. The Stardust pictures look awesome!

I google-mapped it and see that it is almost 2 miles from the strip. So how did you transport your guests to and from? The majority of my guests are staying on the south end of the strip, so f you took a taxi from somewhere like MB, NYNY, or even CP about how much was it?

Also, is it a lot more expensive than the Vista?

The Orleans offers free shuttle service to its sister property the <a href="http://www.goldcoastcasino.com/" target="_blank">Gold Coast Hotel and Casino</a> as well as the Las Vegas strip. The shuttle operates 7 days a week from 9:00 AM to 12:30 AM and picks up guests approximately every 30 - 45 minutes from the hotel's Tropicana Avenue entrance. The last shuttle will leave Bill's Gambling Hall at 12:30 AM. Coast Casinos hotel guests will receive priority seating on all shuttles.

I heard the catering min is $3500. You do have to use their catering to get the suite

i'm not exactly sure as I am not using them for the suite, but the orleans has a shuttle that picks you up outside of Bills (and it makes another stop i think at the gold coast?) this might not be too helpful as your guests are not too close to bills, but wanted to let you know its there.

i think from previous brides their is a room minimum to use the suite, it probably changes based on the day of the week so you would have to use their catering.

Sorry I'm not the most help, but i guess its a start

A free shuttle! Awesome!

Do you know if their catering minimums include alcohol? 3.5k could be okay if it includes that and a bartender/servers

Think of Stardust as a cross between a restaurant and a hotel room. You have to use their bar and catering. When I got a quote it was a $3500 minimum for food and beverage, but maybe it's less on a weekday. You can't just "rent the room" or sneak in catering or any of that. There's no additional rental fee, as long as you meet the minimum.

I was close to having my reception there and I would have provided transportation. They do have a shuttle so maybe you could arrange something, but I wouldn't ask OOT guests to find their own way somewhere more than a short walk away.

I haven't had their food, hopefully WALLACJE will provide some insight.

I wonder if a Friday night will have the same minimums as Saturday night?

I am providing transportation from my ceremony to the reception. And I agree about needing to provide transportation for OOT guests, but I assume most people will be coming and going for the M&G. Plus, my guests are staying at many different hotels. Also, some won't even get into town until Friday night after the party has started, so won't make it until later.

My best bet might be to keep it in a Vista, I guess... but the Stardust is so cool lookin' inside, it's so Vegas-y! I love the chandelier.

The Stardust Suite itself is pretty awesome, spacious, perfect layout, big bar, lots of seating. It would be a pretty awesome view of the strip at night. But I didn't like the Orleans Hotel at all. It felt so old fashioned and very smokey. It also felt like... I don't know how else to put it but "lower class" people gambled there and you have to walk through the casino to get to the suite. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone. That is just my opinion. It is a minimum $3,500.00 catering charge and the room is free. I'm positive that does not include alcohol. I personally would go with the vista suite, media or L Suite over the Stardust.

You know I actually haven't been to Fiesta - family live pretty close to Sunset Station so we usualy start out by playing Bingo there, then we move on to Joker's Wild... there are some other places we've gone to but I can't remember the names...

Ahh okay. I've only been there a few times. We go to Sunset Station though, we have relatives that live close by there. And I go to the mall across the street from there. The closest casinos were I live are Orleans, Silverton, and South Point. We really frequent those and Red Rock. Yay for being rewards members! lol

The suite food we had was great!!! We had 10 appetizers the mexican station (smaller version of the mexican buffet) and it was great. We included alcohol and our cake in our minimum too. We spent $2k on food and the rest went to the bar and they let us know once we reached our minimum if we wanted to continue paying for drinks, which decided to do. The $3500 minimum was for Fri and Sat, I believe its a little cheaper during the other days.

The cab cost was maybe $5 to the strip (NYNY), no one complained to me about that either.

Not sure why people would be considered "lower class" because you have to walk through the casino to get to the rooms?! If that's the case then we were low class, but that's just me. The casino itself was SOOO much fun too!! None of my guests complained about that and if they did, um your bad you can stay at home with that nonsense, what's the big deal about walking through a casino anyway?!

The Stardust Suite is a fabulous place for a party. I had my reception there in 2009. We did a Mexican Buffet and drinks to cover the minimum. The food is fabulous and the service was great. The decor is fun and there is so much seating and places for guests to gather and talk. I also had room for a DJ and there was a small dance area for first dane and stuff.

My wedding party started at Mandalay Bay in the Vista Suite for a pre-wedding gathering. Since we had to bus to the wedding in the Valley of Fire, we just bused back directly to the Orleans. The guests partied and then stayed in the hotel to gamble. Some people even booked a room for that night since they were inexpensive and we had the bowling party there in the morning. People complained more about having to get to MB then about having to cab it back to the strip after the reception.

Just wanted to chime in.

I had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party in the Stardust Suite a year ago from this Friday...time flies! WE LOVED IT! So did my guests. They all seemed very impressed. We had a $3,500 minimum including drinks, food, and snacks. Jay was so helpful and accomidating. He even helped us set up a table for welcome bags. We did the Mexican Buffet and it was a hit. My sister "DJ'd" with her ipod and it rocked. We also played a video montage of pics of us growing up on the TV.

The best is the room that comes attached. That thing is CRAZY huge! Ask for it. Comes with it! It has three more bathrooms, two bedrooms, a dining room, living room, and another bar. My guests loved exploring in there even though we stayed in the main suite for the party. I had 40 people eating and 100 people total in their for cocktails.

The Casino/hotel itself is more of a hit with locals. My family lives in Vegas and we always go there. It's not the fanciest place so people are shocked when they see the rooms and suite on the top floor. : )
