Ditto pp. They don't have to be anything fancy, if you do them at all.
We bought several of those favor kits at Wal-Mart and filled them with M&M's in our wedding colors. They had a favor tag with the kit on which we printed Thank You and our names and the date.
Tulle is very cheap and looks nice. You could get some of those little tulle bags and fill them with you and your FI favorite candies. If you absolutely want to do favors, look around at the craft and hobby stores, you should be able to come up with some cheap ideas.
I found these great "Please-be-Seeded" place cards that have little decorations attached. The placecards themselves are recyclable, and the decorations are plantable, and turn into flowers. We're using those as our favors, and then turn out to just over $1 per person, but also take care of the place cards.
We are not doing favors. We see them as an extra expense that our guests will not miss. It is a personal decision you and your FI should make based on your budget, not on what others are doing. Good Luck!
Ditto Deb, we are not doing favors. Or, our "favors" are a kick a$$ open bar and some great food. For my friends, and family, that's all it takes to be happy
I'm sure there are some neat favors out there, but in my circle they are usually just a cookie or something, if anything at all.
We are going all out on favors as a tribute to my home state, since my wedding is across the country. We cut back elsewhere, getting discounts by using friends of the family for photos and DJ, and not doing flowers in our centerpieces (doing a pinecone/candle arrangement that I put together for about $10 thanks to Christmas clearance this past January!!!) and getting our flowers from the grocery store florist rather than a more upscale florist.
