Boudior???

I am thinking about doing a boudior and giving it to my FI as a wedding gift. Still trying to decide if I should do this or not, but our wedding photographer is able to do this. He did our engagement pictures and we love him!!!

Have you done this before? How much did yours cost? What did the price include? The photographer says for him it's $295 but since we booked a wedding with him, I can do it for $195 and it includes the shoot and a disc of high resoultion images only. Is this a reasonable price?

If I want everything including the shoot, a disc of high resoultion images, a 20 page Finao album that he can design and supply then it'll be $489. I am not sure if I should be shocked at the price or if it is reasonable?

Another question- where did you do your photo shoot?

Thanks!

Yes, I have done them... I loved doing it! I spent $200 on my photographer and will get a book through Mixbook (watch for a groupon). I spent another $100 or so on outfits. We did the photos in my photographer's studio... and all I can say is DO IT you won't regret it!

I did mine with Cadence Cornelius she's AMAZING!

I did mine at Sugar & Spice Photography & had an amazing time! I did it at their studio in Maple Plain.

If I were you, I would go the cheaper route for the shoot & disc with images & make your own book. Mixbook is really great to use & very user friendly. I wouldn't be shocked at the price he gave you, it's actually not bad at all!

    Have fun! = )

I did mine with Laura Ivanova. I LOVE her and LOVED my photos. She was $400 so a little pricer but SO worth it!

I am using Emma Freeman Photography tomorrow! l'm super nervous but i decided at the very last minute i wanted to do it. My price was $300 for 1 hr of photography in the studio, digital images, a private online gallery, and a book of my 20 most favorite photos she will make into a nice book for my fiance that I am going to leave in his hotel room the night before the wedding. I wanted to do it with Cadence Cornelius but she was out of town and recommended Emma. I haven't met her but she has been GREAT to work with and is going to rush my stuff and get it done in a week! I am good at hair/makeup so I am doing my own. If I had more time I would have just paid the $200 for everything (doesn't include the book) and make the book myself online. HTH!

For some reason I did not even think about having my make/hair up done by a professional. Should I do that too?

My photographer doesn't have his own studio but he says we can do it at his apartment (has all the equipment there) or at a house (I am going to have to travel 4 hours to the Cities for this since I live up north, but everything will be in the Cities including the wedding). He also said I could reserve a hotel room but I'd be responsible for the cost. I could do it at my parents' house (with them gone, of course), but I'm not sure if it'd be awkward!

    Thoughts?

I had my hair and makeup done by Hana at Mani Mela. For $125. And I also booked a room at the Saint Paul Hotel. And fibbed to FI and we just had a nice date night there. So everything did add up cost wise but I booked the photog in January and had the pictures taken in May so I had plenty of time to save up.

Call me old-fashioned and/or paranoid... but no matter how much I adored my photographer... I wouldn't want a dude (professional or not!) taking pictures of me alone in his apartment with nothing on except potentially my skivvies.

maybe984- I smiled when I read your post, exactly my thoughts. Not sure if I'm too excited about the idea, but I am looking around to see what else I can find (ideas or different photographers). It doesn't HAVE to be my photographer. Thinking about having a friend coming with me, I just don't think I want to be alone in any room with a photographer!

Our wedding photographer just started offering them. She has some on her website & her pricing is very reasonable. I'm thinking of doing it! MelissaLaChancePhotography.com if you are looking for other rec's

Cadence Cornelius! She is my wedding photographer and I completely adore her. She did B-pics for me - actually twice, because after I did the marathon with her, she got a new studio with great natural light and a vintage bed, and I had to try it out :) They are amazing, and she makes you feel like a total rock star. Mine were $200, and you get about 40 images fully retouched and edited. Then I made a Mixbook, which worked great. Very user friendly and lots of options. The book cost me $35, and I used a Groupon for it.
