envelope address etiquette question

So I'm starting to address my invites (yay!), and I have a question about addressing married couples with the same last name. For our older relatives and more traditional guests, I am addressing them formally as "Mr. and Mrs. John Doe." However, I know that a lot of our friends would be weirded out by that kind of address, and in many cases these are also women who tend to identify themselves as Ms. rather than Mrs. So my plan is to address their invites in basically the same way I do for married couples with different last names.

My question is: when you are using Ms. rather than Mrs. and the woman's first name as well as the man's, BUT they share a last name, can you write it this way:
Ms. Jane and Mr. John Doe
Or does the last name need to be on there twice?
Ms. Jane Doe and Mr. John Doe

Thank you!
Anniversary

When addressing invitations to married couples who have the same name (we know very few, actually), we used:

    Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
