Has anyone used him or is using him?

We have an appointment with him next Friday to possiblly book him for our date, i'm trying to get everything done early. Any infromation would be helpful. Thanks!

I was actually engaged once before and used him for my engagement pictures because he is a family friend. I ended up breaking contract with him as my photographer (before the engagement was broken). I absolutely loved his portfolio so I was really excited for the engagement session. He rushed through the session, was very impatient, and almost rude. I'm not a model and don't take pictures often, and he was very impatient about having to tell me how to stand and how to direct me. I felt awkward and uncomfortable but I just kept thinking to myself he had great pics. He also had some woman (his wife maybe? or a trainee?) come with him and they were really chatty, which was distracting. The ex FI and I definitely didn't feel like we had his attention. I ended up hating the pictures. He used the same 4 or 5 poses in each of the backgrounds. I thought maybe this is just how all photographers are but then I compared my engagement pics with a few of my friends and I was envious of their photographers' creativity and how natural they looked in their pictures. Before all this, I asked for reviews on the forum when I was thinking about using him and I got more negative responses than positive. I was actually angry that people were dissing the photographer I liked (but I'm the one who asked for the opinion). There were a few positive responses though so I'm guessing just like there's a perfect dress, man, or venue for one couple, it may not be perfect for another. I know this was kind of long, but I just wanted to explain myself and why I have a negative review for him. Best of luck.

I am using him and have worked with him in the past. I am by no means a professional model but worked with him on past assignments. Im sorry that you had that type of experience but that honestly does not sound like him at ALL. I would love to see your pics to see how horrible they turned out though.

I am absolutely 100% using him and confident in his work.

Well we signed with him and I didn't feel that he was pushy when we were there meeting with him. I was actully telling him what I didn't want and he told me, just to tell him if I didn't want him to take those pictures (I don't want pictures of the make up I use and I told him I would be wearing flats so I didn't think I needed pictures of my shoes)

It is hard for me to talk to people when I first meet them and I felt that he was easy to talk to.

A girl whose wedding i was in used another photographer who just let us take pictures for TWO HOURS!!!!! That is just obnoxious! I don't want to do that on my wedding day, I think sometime you need someone to rush it a long. I guess i will find out when I take pictures. I'm not doing engagement photos, just a bridal session.
