October 2012 Weddings

Re: First Real Wedding Related Panic

So, I sent them an email about how I felt:

I haven't heard back from you with respect to the small revisions and missing details for the enclosures that I provided on Friday, July 20.  I am going to be honest and let you know that I have lost faith that these will be done in a timely manner in order to give my 300 guests enough time to respond to the RSVP.  That RSVP date is not something I can push back due to providing information to my venue by Oct 1.

I wholeheartedly believe in supporting local businesses but with the lack of response and customer service I have been receiving lately, I'm afraid I am going to have to cancel this order with the understanding that I lose my $250 and I have no rights to the artwork.  Your work is wonderful but with the amount of money I was willing to pay for these I expected a little more in terms of responsiveness.  While I do acknowledge that I am at some fault in taking extra time to provide some details, I don't believe this is an excuse.  To tell me that you never received emails that I sent, troubles me.  This isn't the first time one of my emails with revisions was overlooked during this process.

Thanks for your time.

I got a response about 2 hours later:

Let me begin by expressing my apologies for the delay in recieving your final design edits and for causing you this stress. Is there anything I can do or say that will make you change your mind? I understand that our lack of response has caused you to lose faith in our services but we would like to rectify this if you will allow us to move forward with your invitations.

I can assure you that you will have the edits for invitations by the end of the day and that we will expedite the printing process to ensure that you have your invitations in plenty of time to send out at least a month in advance of your RSVP date. If that means that I personally work through the night to assemble them when they arrive I will.

Please let me know if you are willing to move forward with Thinking Paper. Again, I offer my deepest apologies for our lack in responsiveness and can only rectify this with you if you'll give us the chance to do so.

Thank you for your consideration Ryann.

I let them know that I was going to stick with my decision to cancel.  So I'll be ordering new invites tonight from wedding paper divas with the 20% off coupon and free shipping.  The money I save will be put towards paying off the honeymoon.  Thanks for your support and advice and I feel a lot better about the whole situation and like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders!!!!!

  • Good for you!  I'm surprised that they didn't response with some percentage off of the price.  I think you are doing the right thing!  Yay!

  • I think you are doing the right thing as well.  Obviously they are able to receive emails and respond in a timely manner since they got back to you so quickly after you wrote to them about how unsatisfied you are with them.  I say to little to late especially since they were not willing to compensate you for their mistakes/lack of communication.
