Two Random WR Questions

1) I never do anything with my eyebrows. They're nigh on invisible so I just don't bother. However, my MUA wants me to get something done for the wedding so that there aren't little hairs all over when she colors them in slightly so they show up in pictures. I got waxed a couple months ago and my skin got super irritated from it, so I'm thinking of doing threading before the wedding. However, I don't know how far in advance I should go. Does anyone have any recommendations of a time frame? I was thinking maybe sometime next week (my wedding is the 7th). I don't think my hair grows in super fast...or it didn't seem to when I got waxed and I don't think I'd even need to worry about a tiny bit of stubble as, again, they're pretty much invisible. I just need to get rid of hairs that would catch/hold the powder she uses to darken them.

2) So, FI and I registered for a cake cutting/serving set. So far, no one has purchased it. I'd really like to cut with something that I can then have/use as a memento from then on. Would it be ridiculous to kind of keep an eye out and, if no one buys it, just buy it myself? I know it's a silly thing but I think I'd be sad if we didn't have it for the wedding!

Re: Two Random WR Questions

  • I think giving yourself time between the threading and the wedding is a great thing. You don't want irritated skin and I don't think eyebrows grow back super fast.

Buy your set if no one else has, it happens. It is better to have it even if you got it yourself than not have it at all.

  • 1. I haven't gotten my eyebrows done in almost 2 years lol, I am lazy! BUT I have very sensitive skin and the first few times I went to get waxed my skin came off with it. I have found a place that is amazing and they take care of me. I have played around with the best timing to get waxed and for me and my skin - I get zero to little irritation when I go about an hour or so after I shower. I would go around the 1-2 week mark. No less.

    2. Buy it yourself. Heck I would buy it now and get it out of the way.

  • Yes, buy it yourself and take it off the registry!

For the eyebrows, do it now for sure. My hair is light too, I just pluck them to keep them in shape so when I color them in with makeup it stays the right shape. Def. do it now in case you get any redness/irritation.

  • My MUA said she would tweeze if there were any stray hairs, maybe yours could just do that?  I never tried threading but I would probably do it a week before the wedding, or even closer.

I say buy the cake cutting set!  Why not if you want it?  One less thing to worry about.
  • I agree, go for the threading a week before. It shouldn't irritate your skin like waxing, but you want some time in between just in case.

And also, yep, go for that cake cutting set!
  • Agree on buying the cake cutting set!  Just make sure you take it off the registry :)

  • Ok, thanks all! I will try to set up a time this week or before mid next week to get the eyebrows done. I guess I'll just to figure out when I actually have time (which is getting harder and harder!) I was starting to panic from reading all these places online saying to do it like the day before, and I was just worried (with my skin) that that could be a really bad plan.

As for the cake cutting set, I'll talk to FI. I bet I can convince him to buy it this weekend. We'd put it on there, honestly, in case someone wanted to get it as like a sentimental gift but I don't want to miss out!
