Atlantis wedding?

I'd like to know if anybody has had their wedding at the Atlantis ? Would you recommend it or not? Thank you...

Well, I have not had my wedding there. although we almost signed with them before we found the venue that we fell in love with (Palais Royale). I have been to a wedding here though, and it was quite nice. The food and service was very good. I found out later from my friend however that there were some hiccups with the day (mostly in the cocktail hour). Make sure that every little detail is in writing.

Once of the reasons that we did not go with Atlantis is because of parking issues. They say that a certain number of spots are reserved in the lot, but they do not guarantee a specific lot, which means your guests may be walking from quite far away, especially if you are doing it during the high summer season.

However, they are renovating their rooftop over this summer, so by next summer they should have a stunning place to have ceremonies, etc. The other thing that we noticed as that the room capacities were WAY over what they said they could hold. Meaning a room said it could hold 300 people, but your guests would barely be able to move. Make sure your guest count is about 50 less than they say.

Make sure you get parking passes included with your contract - you should be able to negotiate this with them. We were able to. Let me know if you have any otehr questions!

so jealous you are having Palais royale - it is sooo lovely.
We didnt have enough people to make it worthwhile, but that is a nice spot.

I am not planning to have my wedding at the Atlantis but have been to one there and would say that as a guest, it was quite lovely.  The food was good and the service was nice.  The ceremony was held on the rooftop, then cocktail hour and then dinner reception.  I thought it was nicely done.

On a side note, at the same time as the reception, they were holding a prom/semiformal in another room of theirs so there were at least 2 events during that night.  I'm not sure how that would effect parking if at all.  Parking was a bit confusing as it was a very specific area they wanted you to park, but no signs but I'm sure the logistics can be worked out ahead of time.

    Good luck!

I have also been to a wedding at Atlantis - beautiful at night especially, when you can see the Toronto skyline and city lights. I can't comment about the food bc it was catered by an outside restaurant but the space was cool.

The only thing I didn't like was that sound didn't travel very well. The room is a big V shape and the head table/dance floor is at the point of the V and all the guests sit going out from there. The people at the top of the V near the washroom couldn't hear a thing (I guess if you get more speakers it would solve that problem?).

I had my wedding at Atlantis last summer (August 09).  I thought it was a fabulous experience.

The food was amazing, the staff were very pleasant, and helpful.  The view of the city was beautiful both during the day and the night.  I had my reception in the Trillium Ballroom and had only 90 people. The space was perfect for that amount.  I could see it getting over crowded in that room if you had way over 100.  If you have a large guest list the Metropolitan Ballroom is the exact same as the Trillium but can comfortably hold a large group.

I would definitely recommend a wedding at Atlantis. I wish I could do mine all over again!
