June 2012 Weddings

Saturday checks!

Do we not have a checks thread started for today?

I'm so excited - our invitations arrived! They look awesome! Now I just have to finish addressing the envelopes and we can set up a stamp-and-stuff operation in the living room...

Re: Saturday checks!

  • My big check is my hair and makeup trial today.  I also went to Crate and Barrel with my mom to return a duplicate from my shower and to buy a few more things off my registry with my gift cards.  We also went to the mall and I ordered my last pair of flip flops for my girls (they didn't have them in the store) and exchanged my towels that my cat destroyed (they still had the tags on them).  We learned our lesson about putting them away this time so they went right into the washer when I got home.
  • Purchased my SHOES!!

  • Slow day for me.  Fould a belt for FI to wear on the day.  Hopefully will get some more DIY done tmrw!

  • Today my FI and I went to Crate and Barrel and Bed, Bath, and Beyond to scan things for our registry. FI was so annoying to scan things with. He didn't want expensive things on there thinking no one would buy them, and all the wooden items at Crate and Barrel he stopped to take pictures of so he could make it himself later...took the fun right out of window shopping for the expensive things. A girl can't dream? Lol

  • I had my hair trial today. I also got to visit the place where we're having the rehersal dinner, though it was closed, and found a place to order/eat breakfast before we go to our hair appointment the day of. Also got to show my MOH where the ceremony/reception will be!
  • Started FG and RB gifts (need to add a couple things to each)
    Finished timelines
  • Registered at Crate&Barrel too!  I'm so happy because I feel like our registry is finally complete.  Love their stuff!
    Photobucket Anniversary
  • Emailed all the girls in the WP to remind them of our first fitting next Saturday

Emailed my vows to the officiant

Went over the proofs for the groom's cake

Ordered the frame for the "in the frame" shot at the wedding (later to be used to frame our Wedding Tree)

Still can't really find a dress I like for my shower...it's next Sunday but the search is still on.

  • Attempted a second makeup trial today....used different makeup and it came out horrible!  I'll have to (sigh) find another primer and foundation :(

@Melntaitt---What kind of dress are you looking for?  I'm sure whatever you decide you'll look great!  **side note** Is it across from the DP?  FI says it might be, wanted to be sure.

@littleluckypenny what foundation/primers have you used so far?  I have a couple favorites with great coverage.  I am getting airbrush done for my wedding day though.

I've used Maybelline, L'Oreal, Mary Kay, Avon...it actually looks like I may have to combine two different shades to get my exact shade.  It's a little harder for me to find a match because they say match the shade to your hands or collarbone.  My hands are significantly lighter than my face, so that doesn't really help me.  I may have to go to a makeup counter, but I'm always wary of the artificial lighting in the mall clouding my judgment.
  • Yesterday, FI and I stopped by Value Village and found two silver trays (I'm going to paint the insides with chalkboard paint and use them for our photo booth), and a painting (I took the canvas out and we're using the frame for our photo booth). We also found a basket to hold our river rocks. We're doing a "stones and sharpie" guestbook. This morning I went through receipts and online bank statements and updated our wedding expenses excel document. I added up what we've spent so far, and outstanding payments for vendors...hopefully we'll be able to stick to our budget.

</div><div>If you stop by Sephora (if you have one in your area) they are usually pretty good at finding something that works for you.  I love Make Up Forever's HD foundation, I have a lot of acne scarring and it covers beautifly.  It's a little on the expensive side, but I think it is worth it.  I have been hearing great things about lancome teint idol ultra - so I want to try that one...</div><div>
