April 2013 Weddings

AAAAHHH One month!!!

So today begins my "One Month To Go" Countdown. I am freaking out. Left to do:

Finish centerpieces
Finish cardbox
Finish purchasing bridal party/parents gifts
Purchase bouquets
Purchase food
Get FI suit dry-cleaned
Get FI a shirt & tie
Get hairpiece for me
Go tanning/waxed/facial/haircut/highlights and everything else beauty related
Figure out what (if anything) to do about favors
Figure out timeline on day of
Start seating chart (kind of hard when half of your guest list hasn't RSVP'd yet, they still have a week to go)
Pick up marriage license
Complete list of music

I know I am forgetting some things here...

How are the rest of you April 20th brides doing? Maybe I'll see something on your list that I am forgetting!
Anniversary

Re: AAAAHHH One month!!!

  • Yay! My list is pretty basic: Tanning, haircut and highlights, finish place cards, have ring cleaned, write thank you notes after my shower in 2.5 weeks.

    Anniversary
  • I'm April 14th, but still have many of those things on your list to take care of... ugh. 25 days to go!

It occurred to me that I might have to box the centerpieces, along with other decorations for the reception. And then it occurred to me that I won't be the one setting these things up, and the day-of coordinator won't know what goes where. So I came up with the idea of putting everything in a box (all the sweetheart table decorations/centerpiece, for example), and taking a picture of it set up the way I want it, and pasting that on the outside of the box. Maybe that's a little too type-A (or militant, as one friend just called me--thanks, dude), but I thought it might help them when trying to set up. I'm going to make boxes for the Guestbook, the card table, the favors, etc.
  • One month from today for me too!  I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!  FI has the checklist and is helping me stay on top of things.  Without him nothing would get done!  I get overwhelmed.

    Time is flying!!!!!

  • Thanks Britt, that reminds me I have to make my seating poster too. I won't be doing place cards.

Gina- that's great FI has been such a big help. Mine is so laid back I have to keep on top of him to take care of his 3 chores (dry clean suit, buy shirt and tie, groomsmen gifts).
    Anniversary
  • The time is flying!  I have 29 days left.  My list is pretty small, but there is a lot to do.  Mostly beauty related, like yours.  Tanning, waxing, haircut...all of that!  The month will fly by with so many things to do.  We will all be married before we know it!

</div><div>That's completely reasonable and I did that for all of the formal events I ran in college, the staff thanked me for doing it at the 4 different places we used. I am quite type A but not militant. Militant would be putting it on graphing paper and demanding that one part be no more than 2cm away from another and must be at a 45.5 degree angle. </div><div>
</div><div>Things I still have to do:</div><div>hair and makeup trial next Tuesday</div><div>last fitting (got delayed since my seamstress' mom got sick)</div><div>scout the area for photo locations</div><div>last photographer meeting the Monday before the wedding</div><div>write cards for bridal party</div><div>get my nails done</div><div>confirm all the vendors</div><div>make a reservation at the afterparty bar for a table</div><div>change some money into euros</div><div>put together a day of schedule </div><div>put tips and final payments into envelopes</div><div>write out a day of schedule since it currently just lives in my head</div><div>
