some of you might know my situation. Im in USA as a student while my whole family still lives in Europe. So my wedding is turing out quite a bit different than I had ever expected...you know, my friends and family not being able to attend and everything. Because of that I never really thought I would have many of the experiences that other brides have.
Well, my FI's grandma and great aunt called me today asking if I would be okay with them throwing me a shower on the first Saturday of June!! I was so touched by this, because the only bridesmaid I have is FI's 20yo sister (who's also pregnant), so I never thought I would have a bach. party or a shower. I don't have a whole lot of friends here myself and the BM being 6mo pregnant has bigger things to worry about. It nearly brought me to tears, because I feel like I am being welcomed in the new family and sort of taken care of while I'm away from everything I know.
oh, and also, this happened earlier but kind of relates to the whole situation - FI's parents are giving us a trip to my country next summer as a wedding gift, which is so so awesome. I'll get to see my family after years of being away, FI will get to meet everyone... and my family pitched in as well by giving us another set of tickets to go see Croatia once we are in Europe. Croatia is where FI's grandparents are from. so... idk, I guess I'm just overwhelmed. Wedding can be stressful at times, but they bring the whole family together in such a sweet way. I just love it.
