32 days left and no florist! Is there still hope?

Hello all.  First off, I've been a lurker and wanted to send my thanks to all of you that give honest and clear advise and positive, constructive criticism, and kind thoughts and positive vibes to knotties.

So, after a mis-communication with my fiance, we have no florist and there are 32 days left to the wedding?
What are the chances that we will find a reputable florist that 1) won't take advantage of our desperation and 2) is actually good and creative?  Any recommendations?

My venue has another wedding during the day (ours is in the evening).  Would it be inappropriate to try to find out what florist the other party is using?  Perhaps the florist would be willing to do a second event if it's in the same venue...does that even make sense??? Probably not, it's the anxiety talking.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I think it's possible, but you may be limited in what flowers you can choose depending on stock. Try Avenue or AW, those seem to be knot favorites and maybe they could help or even have suggestions. Is DIY an option? Wholesale flowers can be an affordable option if you have someone crafty to lend a hand.

Keep calm, it may take a few phone calls, but I think you will be able to find someone.

    AW Flowers in Kearny

You could also try supermarket florists. Plenty of them do a great job.

Couldn't hurt to ask what florist the other party is doing. Worst they can do is say no ... best they can do is offer to split the cost of the centerpieces with you.

It's definitely possible. There are a ton of florists out there - mine is Joseph's Florists in Jersey City.

I think you should just start making calls to florists. Does your venue have a preferred vendor list? PP has a good point about doing it soon to allow for ordering flowers. Hopefully, your date won't be a busy one and you will find someone. You are a month out, so if they can and want to do it, they will. Good luck!

Definitely find out who the other florist is, as PP mentioned, maybe you can split the cost of centerpieces with the other bride (depending on if you like that style) but you also risk the chance of people taking home centerpieces.
If the order isn't too much it may be possible to find someone now without incurring major costs.

Is your wedding 11.11.11? If not, then you could try my florsit Debbir from Where Flowers Bloom. She only does one wedding a day but is great!

    AW FLowers in Kearny
You could order online from Telefloral or Costco or BJS
Also try Shoprite...they have great flowers and some locations will deliver (this was my original plan).

Ho-Ho-Kus Flowers & Gifts was one of my favorite vendors. I highly recommend them! Margaret was amazing.

I would definitely check out Apple Blossom Florist in Scotch Plains.  Lisa is amazing and does a great job..and she is a little shop so she doesn't do a ton of weddings every weekend. There is a good chance she may not be fully booked on your date. She did a great job for my wedding - she understood exactly what I was looking for, and her prices are very reasonable.

My mother demanded that I use one of her friends.  Two weeks -- 14 days -- before the wedding that idiot bailed on my.

Yes, you can find a florist.  Just start calling.  Don't act desperate.

Sophie's place in Sparta was my savior but I know Sophie isn't feeling well right at this moment so she may not be able to help.

I finalized mine 2 weeks before my wedding too. You have time. Don't panic & don't sound desperate! We used Eileen Ibranyi & she did a great job. She was recommended by a friend and we were really happy.

Thank you all so much for the advice and supportive words!!

The heart palpitations have slowed.  I love flowers and believe they need to be an integral part of our wedding reception decor.

I will definitely try the recommendations some of you so kindly shared.

Thanks again and good luck to you with all your planning and wedding celebrations!
