Help!! I cant vision a size 8 in a dress

Ive been looking online to see what a size 8 would like in a knee length dress, all the ones show anorexic looking girls. Its not for my dress, its the brides and she cant vision her self at size 8 yet since shes dieting. The wedding isnt till april, and its in vegas. If anyone can show a photo of a size 8 with straps since she is busty, i would greatly appreciate it so i can help her pick a gown.  She will wear a red or blue or white if any one has any ideas

Re: Help!! I cant vision a size 8 in a dress

  • it really depends on the place in most dresses I tried on I am a size four (114lbs) but had to order my wedding dress in a size 8. you have to try it on and never order a dress that is a lesser size than you are.
  • you can look on recycledbride.com and limit your search to size 8s, but really, if she is a size 8 in street clothes, she will likely be a 10-12 if she buys an actual wedding gown.

Also, agree with previous posters...  a size 8 looks different on people, depending on your body type.  So, looking at someone else in a size 8 probably won't really help much.
  • If she's busty she's might have to go up a few sizes to accomodate that and take the rest of the dress in. I'm not crazy big, but there was a difference of 4 or 5 sizes between my bust measurment and the rest of me and I still had to order a women's size to keep the girls covered, if it was a zip up dress instead of a corset I would have gone a size or two bigger. Trying stuff on is the only way to know. Also if there's a dress she wants to see a on real person, google image search, people post pictures of themselves, although this isn't great for new styles. Dolly Couture has a lot of short dresses with straps and it's easy to find pictures online of real brides in them.
