Has anyone gotten married or is getting married at Cescaphe? I saw pics from another wedding site and thought it looked amazing! Of course the website for Cescaphe says they are wonderful and only have glowing reviews. I am going for a tour on the 22 and just want to know anyone else experiences there or any suggestions. Thanks!

I just went to a wedding there in June! It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!! They had more food than I've ever seen in my life.. But What I loved was when you walk up, there is an outside patio area with a bar where they served drinks as soon as you enter. They had another room with a bar that was inside as well. The ceremony was held in a beautiful room (where the reception also took place). Cocktail hour was held in another room adjoining the ceremony room and the outside patio. It's hard to explain but it was magnificant! It was a little decieving when we were driving there. I would have never imagined a place so elegant could be where it was. I hear they book veryyyyy quickly! So I would jump on it if you are interested. I know they have a bridal and groom suite there as well.

I went to a co-worker's wedding there a year and a half ago. The food at cocktail hour was enough for dinner and was delicious. The dinner was good, not as excellent as the coctail recption food but I was too full to eat all of my dinner anyway. It was a nice venue. She absolutely loved working with them. Her sister is actaully also getting married there this year that is how much they liked it. When her sister looked around, there were other places around the same price but the at the Cescaphe you just got more. If it is in your budget it is probably worth it!

The reason why I was asking here is bc I live in DE and wanted to hear from other DE brides about it if anyone has been there.

I understand, but since it's in Philly, there are going to be more people who a) have been to a wedding there, and b) have had their wedding there, or at least have looked into the pricing. Since most of the brides on here are DE brides, they know DE venues. It would be the same for NJ, or MD. Unless it is right over the state line, like Mendenhall Inn in PA or Chesapeake Inn in MD, you are best checking with the board that the venue belongs to.

I looked at it for my wedding and it was booked well over 1-2 years out depending on the date. For my Saturday in June, it was 2 years out. Pricewise, it was around or slightly higher than Hotel DuPont but you also pay tax. Beautiful facility and they really do an amazing spread. Every one seems happy that went with them.

One point that brought me back to DE after my Philly search that might help---
Are your older guests going to stay as long if they are thinking that they have 45 min drive in the dark afterwards?
Will your guests want to drink since they are driving in a big different city and will they stay as long?
This is based on the assumption that your guests don't live in Philly. Personally I hadn't considered those questions because they wouldn't faze me but my family started pointing out our guests and I realized that alot of my guests would leave earlier or really not drink/let their hair down.

Ok...that makes me sound like drinking is all that matters LOL geez...

Santorini, no it doesn't! They are all actually really good points. Another one to add is even if you book hotel rooms, will your guests even stay? I know a LOT of brides who say that "Oh, well I booked a block and they can just stay the night." But you have to consider your guests financial statuses, especially in this economy...sometimes (and these days, a lot of times), the money for a hotel room is just not there. Are you willing to not have those people there because of that?

I did think of all those points but its the FH who refuses to get married in DE and is pushing for a venue outside of here. I am perfectly happy with being married in DE, as a matter of fact, I would love to have a simple sunset beach wedding (since the FH and I always go to the beach for dates and to just relax whenever we have days off together) and then go all out for a reception. A majority of his family is in NJ, mine is in DE but our grandparents are in DE. For his family, money is not an issue and since a majority of our guest list is his family that wont be a problem. I worry about our guests, the few that aren't family, because I know that all of his friend have kids and we are having a kid free event so they will want to go home, plus they are all big drinkers....I wish I could find a nice beach venue that is private with a nice looking reception area or even an area near water that is private with a reception area.

I'm kinda at lost even where to begin with all this planning and have no help from family or friends. I figured we could call places and get an idea of cost then start planning from there but I don't know if thats a good idea either because that estimate doesn't include flowers, clothing/accessories and stuff like that. Anyway I'm reading planning books and taking notes so hopefully it will all work out!

Don't worry. It will all work out. In my opinion (even though I just started planning) the venue was the hardest thing to do! There are plenty of places in between Delaware and Philly if you are worried about being away from Delaware. It is a long stressful process searching for venues. If you have ANY questions, don't be afraid to ask. Everyone on here will help you if they can. I wish I had some ideas for you... I only looked in Wilmington and in MD.

I can't imagine not having any help, even if it is just the little things.

If you have the money, I would highly recommend looking into a DOC. Erin Proud from Proud to Plan and Carina from Remember This Day are two who come highly recommended, and will help you along the way/the day of (depending on which package you choose). For your sanity, I think this would be something that you should check out.

A good friend of mine who is also our photographer recommended Erin from Proud to Plan. I'm going to check into what she offers and talk it over with the FH. I don't want to be too stressed!

If Erin is too much (her prices are high), definitely check out Carina. The girls on the Philly board rave about her (Cara is using her on October 2), and, having met her myself, I can vouch that she is sweet and adorable to boot!
